thanks to his comment about Stevie's Visions in DJ Joey Joe's post from a while back, i've been on a SERIOUS Stevie kick, which is never a bad thing.
he also inspired me to put drums on that track, which was downloaded over 500 times and i've only posted about it here and in GD, which is kinda mindblowing to me.

Thanks to; Block, A Love Supreme, Herb-One, Denny, cb010, Spread, and Csekshun for keeping my album moving.
I know the "beat-offs" are long gone and forgotten but I still have tracks picked by these producers/lessonheads slated for the album and I've got a little more than a quarter of it recorded.
I was able to send Block the rough mix of his cut which he gave me some pointers to go back to the final mix with…which we saw eye to eye on without question.
I will treat everyone's cut the same way and send you the rough mix before finalizing so that the producer has a final say and are the first to hear the track.
Denny…you should be the next one to expect an inbox in the next week or two (you've got the opener and closer to the album).
Csekshun…our styles just match beautifully. I'm using at least 4 tracks from you and you too should be expecting a few rough mixes coming soon. I've already recorded to 3 of those 4.
I don't think I forgot anyone, but thanks to these guys for getting me back in the booth!

I lurked here for a couple years after I got out of highschool... I was just getting into "underground" hip hop... I had already liked Common and The Roots, but didn't know much besides them... and I tried to learn some shit off you guys... I still remember the day Dilla died... I remember I talked about it so much and I talked about Donuts so much that one of my friends went out and bought it... Eventually logged on and joined the Dilla stanery... You guys have all taught me so much about music and different artists... Definitely glad this forum is around...

Im a baby in this place, but I feel so at home here, and appreciate all that has happened, I wish i had been hip to this shit years ago. But living in Israel, having a rough time as it is since i moved, and having no one to dish knowledge with (not that i had THAT many back in SC, but at this point its like major isolation), it means alot for me to come here everyday and have this place to learn and discuss my one love, music.

Yeah, I've kicked it down there a few times since they did all the re-development. Starting at around the YMCA on Broadway, they've been setting up all these restaurants/bars/art galleries. Some of them are REALLY nice. I fox with Pikan's restaurant whenever I can. They want you to rock a shirt with a collar if you go there for dinner, but the food is worth it.

howisya, primus luta, lonesome d, and inpulse for taking an interest in me musically, but I don't think that would happen if not already aware of each other in terms of taste/temperament, as their various writings on here had already heavily influenced me or otherwise provided me with lots of thought-fodder. even though not as much interaction, others whose posts have given me plenty to mull over include john book, hellberg, disco dj, damaja, dale cooper, afkap/orfeo, el rey (I think that's his name?), others i'm forgetting. the collective concrete of lesson posts has significantly shaped my ideas as well as my understanding of others' ideas, I enjoy hearing other perspectives maybe more than forwarding my own, aside from an exaggerated promotion of vladislav delay as my totally favorite artist like ever.
