It's been a few weeks --- what's everyone got, whether new this week or stashed from recent releases?
Looks like a lot on the indie-ish side of things, maybe a bit less on the hip hop/r&b side this week --- but there is a new Nick Hakim lp which might bridge that gap.

Haven't been listening to a whole lot lately and it's been mostly catch up, like the Perfume Genius and Yeah Yeah Yeah records from earlier this year (both awesome).
But honestly, this Ibibio Sound Machine live performance from KEXP dropped last night and it is *everything*:
I'll share some other new and recent listening soon. I'm on an EWF kick this morning and am diving deep on their earliest albums. Sherry Scott sounds like Roberta Flack on "I Think About Lovin You" and it's tripping me out bc that could've/should've been a Flack song.

Album due in Feb. On heavy repeat since yesterday. With every release I love them more, definitely one of my favourite acts of the last decade or so. Video is great too. https://youtu.be/uPyC0JUfZrU

Gibbs, Rome Streetz, and Cormega all dropped the same day. Prodigy did too, and I haven’t even gotten to that one.(not big on posthumous releases, but I’ll check it soon because it’s Prodigy). Gibbs has been the one I can throw on any time.
I’ll probably check out Armani Ceasar’s new album at some point this weekend. But I haven’t listened to anything new in 2 weeks, which has been nice because I’ve gone back to a lot of the albums I liked from this year and given them more spins.
This year in hip hop not be as strong at the absolute top as most years to me - but I think it’s the deepest year of pretty good-good-very good albums in a long time. There’s just so many albums I’ve liked this year.

>New Babyface "Girls Night Out". Duets with current R&B girls >of the moment. Worst album artwork I've ever seen.
Is the music any better? I did a *very* quick first 10 seconds of every track skim and did not stop once. That doesn't always mean much but in this case I felt like maybe I was dodging a bullet...

>The new Arctic Monkeys is good background noise...
Gave that a listen on a long drive yesterday. I actually really liked it, not what I was expecting, but it felt like it overstayed its welcome (and it's only 37 min). Will have to go back to decide if it has any staying power or not, but it was a nice first listen.
