Conservatives are pissed at Sarah Huckabee Sanders for choosing a young white man to portray welfare recipients.
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is facing right-wing backlash over an ad featuring a white man playing video games who got off welfare thanks to the state’s work requirement.
Several conservative personalities lashed out against the ad on social media for depicting “Brad,” who chooses not to work and plays video games on his couch instead, over the right-wing stereotypes of women and people of color living off of government assistance.

and they had a town meeting that we thought was about the town and university improving work relations.
Governor stood up and said “we got on welfare and we never got off” and a room filled with white people agreed.
these poor white rural areas have no shame about welfare.
but EVERY TIME I tell that story to white people, they get mad af. lol

they just start saying shit that makes no sense.
like MAGA when you tell them facts about Biden vs Trump
but what they never do is say “damn, for real?” or “wow, that’s sad” its always some spin because they can’t accept that reality.
and part of that is because I put on a performance while telling the story. “All these years I was raised to believe more Black people were on welfare than white people and then to see a room full of white folk admit they were all on welfare.. a site to see” while looking them dead in the eye.

7 of the 20 poorest counties in the *country* are in eastern KY so I am absolutely not surprised. Certainly part of the state I wouldn't drive through at night.
