"She claims she bought us a house"

I aint never heard a lie like this before.

Wife’s mom gives the toxic daughter whatever she wants while shitting on my wife for being honest and calling shit like it is..

when it was pointed out that it was wild af to want us to come to christmas so she could announce her plans to give her sister a shit ton of money for a basement reno her response was..

BUT I BOUGHT YALL A HOUSE AND WAS GOING TO TELL YOU AT CHRISTMAS!!!

who buys a house for someone without telling them about it? I was there a month ago and see didn’t say shit about a house. No address, no photos.. nigga what? How do withhold a whole ass house from someone and why can’t we claim this on our taxes?

but she has to know flaunting that she is spending it on her sister would make my wife feep
some type of way..

and we think if she did buy a house it was for herself since she always wanted a tiny home to rent out.

we didn’t ask for another house. Hell, we want to fix up the house we are in or add on since its only 1200 sq ft.

In response to Reply # 6

(assuming by your^ "toxic daughter", your wife's sister is kinda the black sheep of the siblings?)

if set of parents has 3 kids, and they're:

"has shit together" "has shit together" "hot mess"

do you still think the parents should still split the "$-help for kids" 3 ways evenly? or fair for them to disproportionately throw some more to hot mess-child?

(im #teamlatter, but ive been surprised by some people being more for the former... even if it means their own sister/brother getting less needed help)

financially, there may be nothing to pass down. no business or funds to gift the next generation.

the concept of fairness or equal treatment support gets harder when the kids (even as adults) have different life needs or fail to really launch. so the parents tend to focus on the most needy from a time, attention, and effort perspective.

basically fearful that the 'weakest' of the kids will have a harder time in life, so support them more. sometimes to the point of neglecting the few asks of the stronger kids.

Also sounds like the parent(s) feel guilty in feeling maybe they didnt show enough care or love to the adult weak link as a child, but from siblings they tend to say the weak kid was usually spoiled and just kept being spoiled.

Going all the way back to the bible, the concept has been around that the kid who needed the most tends to get the most.

On the other hand, there is the Western Concept of Primogeniture where, the oldest kid gets everything and is responsible to div'ing it out.

it was easy and they funeral hime director said it was the most calm she had ever seen a family. Usually its nothing but fighting.

But my mom was broke.. lol.

What happens when there are millions to carve up and the oldest is selfish? What happens when the person in control decides to hold that money as leverage?

shit gets messy

her sister is fine financially but she has made some ridiculous decisions when it comes to her marriages and child rearing.

she has 4 kids, we have 2 kids..

My mother in law gives the toxic sister 95% of support and gives us 5%.

I feel like kids should get equal amounts of support but I do realize some kids need more attention.

i had to get on my wife about that keeping tabs on what her siblings get vs her shit

i have 7 siblings and its just not something ive cared about, ever

my wife is a middle child of 3
the oldest, a girl, does her kids homework FOR them with no shame. and let her kids sleep in her bed until 2nd grade. the husband sleeps on the couch.

the youngest, a boy, a born fuckup in his 30s asks his mama for money every payday and JUST got caught using the his Govt issued gas card on his personal vehicle to the tune of $5,000.

sometimes you have to take being treated different as the blessing it is.
let them people have whatever she’s giving them, be grateful you dont need it like they do.

she just told my wife a few weeks ago about her plans for renovating her sisters house.

She is playing games.

We were getting ready to go on vacation and she called my wife and my wife didn’t pick up. So she kept calling and then texted that she was going to call the police for a welfare check.

next morning when we called her like “welfare check? Really?” and my wife told her why she didn’t call her back and about how she feels about the imbalance her mom claimed she but us a house.

thing is, her sister and her mom have a lot more money than we have..

what we do have is a great marriage and I truly believe it makes them jealous of my wife. Hell, her mom said “everyone doesn’t have a great husband with a loving family”

I stay in my lane. My brother is the same way..

but my sisters..

well, one in particular, she stay stirring up drama.

As the youngest I just watched them make mistakes or get caught doing shit and took notes on what not to do to piss off parents.

and that is my wife’s issue. Her sister was the problem child so my wife did all she could to please her mom and her mom STILL treats her like shit while running behind the other sister to fix her life.
