"Special elections incoming April 1st"
Tue Feb-04-25 04:12 PM by Doomdata21

So, the republicans might have left open a small loophole to help us gain back some power. They have a couple of congressional special elections that we need to start supporting our preferred candidates in the house. We need these seats to significantly weaken the opposition. The Dems got one recently in a state senate race.

If anyone is so inclined to support these Democratic Party candidates in "red" districts for control of the House. Here's their campaign website info below:

Gay Valimont
https://gayforcongress.com/

Josh Weil
https://bsky.app/profile/joshweil.bsky.social

I've donated to both because we have to have someone in the opposition in control of the House. Maybe we can get some hearings for Elon to be grilled and skewered in publicly.

I meant to reply to this post rather than below, my bad.

But here I'll just say...Elon will not be grilled and skewered publicly- even if Democrats were to somehow gain 20 seats.

There is nothing in recent or even semi-recent history that should cause you to think otherwise.

They will vote to censure their own for violating decorum at a fascist speech though. So I guess they do have *some* fight.

For daring to call out Trump using an alleged/pretend mandate to gut medicaid. Chose decorum over the urgency of the moment.

10

Some in very safe blue districts.

Jeffries urged restraint prior to the STOTU, and has essentially said that presidents come and go, but Jesus has the wheel.

All of Trump's nominees sailed through the Senate with very little- often zero- resistance.

The vibes from everyone from Jeffries to Schumer to talking heads like Carville are to let Trump punch himself out.

In other words, the Dem strategy appears to be to let shit get awful so that that voters appreciate dems more. Think how little they will have to promise to do if Trump just ruins fucking everything.

My point is...even if democrats beat the odds in these special elections, do you really believe that Democrats will hold hearings on Elon Musk, etc?

Do you honestly and truly believe that Democrats will do that? Did they enforce congressional orders last time they had power? Did they hold anyone in Trump-world to account? Any billionaires? Why would I or anyone believe for a second that this time...this time will be different?

And if you do believe it, when Musk inevitably ignores congressional orders...do you honestly believe that Democrats will enforce them?

I have seen absolutely zero evidence that Democrats even want to fight this stuff, let alone have the competence to do so. I guess a few more people could potentially wear pink to Hitler's next speech-so...win?

Don't get me wrong, I hope Dems win these lections- but I really scratch my head at how folks still get their hopes up for Democrats to fight for them.

...these are the cards we've been dealt. We can chastise them all day for everything under the sun. The republicans are the enemy. We have the opportunity to chip away at the lead... so let's lock in. I like Rep. Al Green for his candor and conviction. 95% of the Dems voted NOT to censure. We need to bolster his position and get some W's.

warned about Jan 6

Voters said nah, we good on Dem policies, give us another plate of hot shit for us to eat.

Let them eat shit.. its the only way they will understand what more shit taste like.

sucks for those who voted against this shit but here we are..

...but it's also wild that I believe that the election was stolen by both legal and grossly illegal means. Social media has many in the twilight zone, and the greater mainstream media is captured. It's a mess of titanic proportions. We gotta claw it back somehow.
