Do you feel this All CAPS yelling is changing anyone’s mind about anything or is this performative?
I’ve been here since 99/2000, when have I ever posted anything belittling black women?
Is bleaching not a social phenomenon that deserves attention and discussion?
Are we not allowed to talk about one of the most recognizable black women on the planet changing her skin tone ?
Maybe some guys here have an agenda, maybe some hate black women, but you can’t paint us all with that brush. I wasn’t posting on her losing or gaining weight or her hairstyle, which would have made me a legitimate target for your vitriolic response.
This is an issue that has affected my country particularly hard, the association between light skin and femininity by society. It’s causing serious damage across generations.
I’m saddened that this phenomenon has shown up in African American society, I thought that particular form of self hate was limited to us.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this whatever they may be , but I don’t appreciate the cussing out.
