https://apnews.com/article/young-thug-trial-guilty-plea-581c38d53dc37f86d5b038f6c23e4b77

"The judge imposed a sentence of 40 years with the first five to be served in prison but commuted to time served, followed by 15 years on probation. If he successfully completes that probation without any violations, another 20 years will be commuted to time served. But if he violates the conditions, he will have to serve those 20 years in addition to any penalty for a probation violation.

Young Thug must stay away from the metro Atlanta area for the first 10 years of his probation, except for weddings, funerals, graduations or serious illness of family members, the judge said."

Swipe:
He will serve 15 years of probation, backloaded by a 20 year sentence that may be served in custody depending on his probation.

How the fuck can someone be on paper for 15 years? And then at the end they'll decide if he does 20 years in prison??

I mean there are levels of trouble if your on probation and it also depended on who their PO was - but a dude like this is going to be mercilessly watched for at least the first 3 years.

I can't imagine the level of perfection he's going to need.

What'll make it easier for him is that he has money so he could conceivably just go all suburban and chill - let's hope for his sake he can do it.

IF the state has botched it as bad as it seems.

if they can't do their job? that's on them and not on him and he should have to suffer under the system for their failures.

now, if they got him fair and square and didn't fuck it up? that's on him.

but that's not what happened here.

A better “punishment” wouldve been for him to have drop 5 positive albums and donate all proceeds to women shelters, food pantries, community centers, st.judes or Shriners like care facilities, and hbcu college scholarships.

Cause the “punishment” he has now is probably the same thing he’s been doing anyway. Living outside the metro area in a rich burb, visiting the old block for family and special events, calling in whomever to do his dirty work in the metro area and still making shitty music.

I usually don't like to rely on YT Videos for primary sources of information, much less a comedian, but there is actually very little I can find so far about what was really going on in the Young Thug trial. We've seen "funny" daily antics of folks involved but I really haven't read anything that's given me a sense of what the trial was about and how strong the case against Young Thug was. In that Vacuum, this comedian whose been around a minute has given me more detail than I've seen anywhere else.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhhG6ye7U3A

He's funny but it also looks like he really was watching the trial on a daily basis.

It's just shenanigans on the part of the prosecution. I thought it had to be when the case went from seeking 20 years to a crazy plea bargain a year into the trial.

And All I can think is this is our last and best hope for prosecuting Trump.

I have a special issue with Fani WIllis because it took some time for me to put together that she is the prosecutor who sought RICO charges against school teachers for cheating on standardize test. It was a terrible thing and everyone should have gotten fired but RICO charges.

And I think it hits especially close to home because a friend's mother was one of the teachers prosecuting, and the trial and the conviction killed her. She was convicted and was sentenced and she died before ever serving time. A school teacher. SMH.

I say all this to say don't get your hopes up on justice coming to Trump if it relies on this clown show.

The "Prosecuting Trump" ship officially sailed the fuck home once he became President-elect. One way or another, all them cases are dead.

Mind you, whatever hope you had for Trump facing justice should've died with the Supreme Court immunity ruling. Him winning the election just put extra dirt on the coffin.

Federal stuff is deaded. But not state stuff.

So theoretically Tish James and Fani Willis can still bring some hear.

The Supreme Court decision doesn't cover non-official acts.

But yeah I hear you.
