It seems that his crew/associates may have gotten away with this before. There was this rapper in Chicago that dissed Chief Keef/Durk/etc. and then was immediately killed...felt like a few weeks afterwards. And what really stood out to me....felt really off...was they were on media laughing/joking about it. Really strange. Keep in mind, this was maybe like, 10 years ago, but Durk was on Sway's Universe then and he said something to the effect of 'you see what happens when you mess with us' and laughed about that specific incident. I mean.....so disrespectful, so brazen about it....and on Sway's Universe. It deeply bothered me. I mean.....yes this rapper was dissin' you all, but to laugh at his murder? Never sat well. Not to say he definitely had a hand in the Quando Rondo incident, but if he did, there could be precedent.

It goes beyond Chicago but these kids "opps" will get killed and they'll just be on Twitter or IG laughing about it. I used to be into the Chicago Drill scene when Chief Keef first popped on the scene (I was 22 then) but I quickly stopped enjoying it as much when I realized these kids were actually killing each other and this wasn't just rap. Ironically enough Chief Keef seems to be the only one from that scene that moved out of Chicago, stayed his ass in LA and stayed out of trouble and to this day is one of the only ones left from the early Drill days that isn't dead or in jail.
I really thought for a bit that Durk had moved on from that life too after he became one of the bigger artists from that scene that really made it out of Chicago and was liked by people all over, but guess not. FBG Duck is another rapper from Chicago that I believe people from OTF (I think) got found guilty of, not sure if Durk had put that hit out too or not but it doesn't really matter at this point. He is done.

I would rather kill or be killed than ride this wave to financial freedom and a chance at generational wealth
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

Not the other way around. I'm talking about the modern drill rappers. Some make it big, but since it's just another type of hustle for them so many eventually crash out or get smoked.
Basically, your speculation isn't probably that far off. Most-likely that wasn't the first hit that was put out.
Drill rap is like a cancer that has spread to every hood in the US now. All these 3-letter gangs popping up everywhere.

It’ll just be more of the same.
I recall a few years ago one of my students (16 rapper) was hyped about G Herbo beating charges. I asked the lad ‘why even out yourself in an issue to have charges?’ But he was like ‘it dont matter cause he got afford good lawyers’. Then we got into how much time and money was spent on those good lawyers and he kinda set back but still arguing ‘but he beat them, he’s untouchable.’
The ‘beating the charge’ thing is now ‘it thing’ for rappers and our judicial system plays right along.

The judicial system has become a joke (or maybe it already was). You got money, you can beat pretty much anything. Normal people not so much; go to jail the next day and stay. I mean, who has the bread to have top lawyers fight for you for over 2 years?
Lil Durk might not be done and will be good after all.
