"If A Civil War Does Pop Off, What's Your Contingency Plan?"
Mon Jan-22-24 09:34 AM by Thee Phantom

Do you have an updated Passport?

Do you have GTFOOD money saved?

Do you have friends/family with a bug out bunker and firepower?

Do you have any stockpiles of supplies (First Aid, canned food, water) left over from COVID?

No weapons. Wife and I keep talking about getting guns and training but have yet to do it.

No plan at all besides protecting my family in my house.

I used to say I would get my bro in law since he is an outdoorsman but he is pretty fucking unreliable and driving across NC to meet up seems like the worst idea when it comes to protecting my family from THEM.

Not evil, just realistic. Coordinate with the neighbors, and do what we gotta do to ensure peace and safety for us. That means getting rid of the sociopaths and dickheads (that's the "realistic" part).

I ain't got nowhere to go.

yeah, just thing we need to do is vet these neighbors. Pretty sure we have about 2 alt right dudes on our block and there is a vet with an iron gate around his house. I know that dude is an enemy unless he’s Blackity Black.

In case of a collapse, those alt-right n& military neighbors might be your allies, if the goal is to keep the community around you safe.

If a real civil war, like with splitting up the US did pop off I think it would be the people in the purple areas that would be on the frontlines.

like, civil war between who? conservatives and libs? black and white? what we doing?

cuz people have said a civil war is gonna pop off between those groups and more in the last few years.

either way, i'm probably gonna die cuz i'm have no firearms, etc. i don't have a compound or know anyone who has one, or a bunker, where i can hide out. and, i ain't rich enough to build one unless these numbers hit.

lol, in all seriousness this is a real question.

The red southern states ironically have the highest black populations. A lot of blue liberal states have very few black or Hispanic people. And what side are the Mexicans gonna be on? The Asians? Who are the bi/multi-racials rocking with?

You'll have plenty of time to make that exit.

I intend to bounce elsewhere.

Most of us can get a Ghanaian passport. It's shockingly easy to get a passable passport for other countries (as long as you have the money and don't try to fly into THAT country) American money will go a long way there (at least for a bit). It would be wise to convert it to fiat currency quickly while the value is still high. I'd avoid diamonds that will crash. Gold is great, but hard to move, silver isn't much better.

I'd go with Rubies, emeralds and such - easy to move, valuable, easy to hide, etc.

Bounce to somewhere safe, cash out, get you a homestead, a business you can self-sustain on.

Also, if you really worried, get good at something valuable - learn a trade of some sort.

Just as an aside, you can buy California poppy seeds. They are completely legal. A lot of people think you cannot make 'milk o' the poppy' with them, but that is actually incorrect. This version wouldn't be anywhere near as potent as the illegal version, and it's non-narcotic, but it does have sedative effects, and does ease pain.

Things like this will be VERY valuable in a full scale collapse of society. There are lots of little odd facts and tidbits like this that could come in hand if the shit REALLY hits the fan.

Just don't do the 'wait it out.' Make a plan, execute.

You'll be alright.

hypothetically, of course. I'm not to be taken seriously about ANY of this.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/mark-zuckerberg-spent-187-million-191118946.html

Mark Zuckerberg Spent $187 Million Secretly Buying 1,600 Acres of Hawaii Land, And Now He Is Reportedly Building A Massive Self-Sustaining Apocalypse Bunker

Meta Platforms Inc. CEO Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly constructing an extensive compound in Kauai, Hawaii, featuring a unique blend of luxury and survivalist elements. The compound, known as Koolau Ranch, is set to include a 5,000-square-foot underground bunker, complete with its own energy and food supplies. The bunker’s design incorporates a metal door filled with concrete, a feature commonly found in bunkers and bomb shelters.

The project, which reflects a growing trend among Silicon Valley elites for preparedness and luxury, is estimated to cost around $100 million to build on top of the $170 million spent acquiring the land. This brings the total investment to approximately $270 million, according to Wired.

I used to work with a guy at Apple that had a bug out bunker with a stockpile of guns, ammo, samurai swords, water and a green room for vegetation.

At the time he was def anti-government and he became a NY State Trooper.

Don't allow social media and online outrage fool you into thinking that the citizens of this country are ready to choose sides and engage in actual battle - that's just the keyboard talking.

The vast majority of people simply aren't willing to pick up arms and risk the regularities of their daily lives for temperate political beliefs. The population is primarily apathetic and doesn't subscribe to any form of political extremism. Voting in elections is about as politically active as most people get.

Americans are way too comfortable, have too much to lose, and are too politically spread out for another civil war. Opposing ideologies aren’t necessarily as centralized. The country was far more divided during the civil rights era, yet it still never came close to popping off then. And we're a far more self-absorbed populace now.

And none of that even mentions the billionaires and uber-powerful that run operations on U.S. soil. War is only profitable for them when it takes place on foreign land. They talk a good game to galvanize their base, but a war at home would simply be terrible for business.

I'm not downplaying the very real threat of radicals. Domestic terrorists impacting our water and energy supplies is also a legitimate concern. I would stop short of categorizing that as civil war, though.

Using the Capitol attack as example; after months of facilitating, organizing, and planning, the hillbilly insurrectionists still ultimately failed on their goal. The votes were certified, Trump was handed a second impeachment, 1200 criminal cases were filed, and the inauguration of Joe Biden continued to take place. The insurrectionists have never had any semblance of military support.

War is a cost-benefit analysis for citizens and even if you can get some fringe individuals to believe their rights are in enough danger to warrant risking their lives, you're not going to get enough to form any sort of organized front, IMO. What we're doing is generalizing the entire population to the 1% extremists.

remember they wanted to go after state capitols.

Jan 6th going that far, .even if it failed is terrible. Help from the inside, guns waiting nearby, and then they just walk home when it was over. Many of those who were sentenced got less time then what was requested. SCOTUS looking at helping others.

You only need a few Tim McVeigh's to start it off. The ones who you believe will not join the cause are coddling those who were convicted. Calling them hostages, making excuses for them and calling them patriots.

with his family... and i wouldnt wish what he describes on anyone

a few months ago a friend was asking me if i thought some towns in south sudan would be an option for her uncle and his family to move to
(i dont even know what to think about south sudan being an option for any refugee)
another friend... their cousin fled, where they went was worse- they moved back to khartoum and are all insh'allah.
and now watching what's happening in gaza.
this shit is not as easy as reading these responses seem to think it is.
i will be in south sudan in march... going now because... well apparently we are planning to have elections later in the year
and i will be surprised if fighting doesnt break out.
as it did in dec 13, 2013 (i was luckily out of the country - went back a few weeks later and had a few nights of... well rpgs)
and in 2016
this is some 'do not take lightly shit' and almost impossible to be prepared for.

.
http://perspectivesudans.blogspot.com/
i myself would never want to be god,or even like god.Because god got all these human beings on this planet and i most certainly would not want to be responsible for them, or even have the disgrace that i made them.

I couldn’t imagine going back to a country that is in the midst of war.

My roommate in college was from Liberia and showed me videos of war back in the late 90’s.

I remember Ethiopian and Eritrean women go from best friends to not speaking when war broke out.

Can’t imagine in actually happening here like what was described and shown to me in those countries.

it was harrowing for us to be in Canada and be helpless as to what they were going through. thankfully they made it to Egypt and then to Canada and are safe here. But there are many others who are not Canadian citizens/passport holders who are stuck indefinitely in Egypt or small towns in Sudan that are somewhat safer than Khartoum. Civil war (or any war) is not to be taken lightly.

Fleeing is the only option that you could possibly have some control over - and movement may be harder depending on what's happening.

Your bunker and gun can't beat a fighter jet or an attack helicopter.

You can't stay awake 24/7 and look in all directions at all times.

Folks went INSANE when they were asked to stay in the house unless something *important* requires you to leave - no WAY will they be able to handle a war.

They're preparing for if SCOTUS upholds Colorado's Trump ban. This is an orchestrated ploy by Abbott and national Republicans to justify removing Biden from ballots if needed. Republicans across the country have claimed they will do the same to Biden due to an "open border insurrection." It's political chess.

Hopefully the secessionist movement picks up steam, though. Secede, fuck if we care? Those U.S. Military bases that entire towns and counties build their economies around? Those are gone. Funds for roadways, bridges, and education - gone. Oh, and that federal assistance that's becoming increasingly needed for hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, etc.? Yep, all gone.

Fortunately they'll have plenty of time to sort all those matters out, though, because without a developed passport system, no one's coming or going for a while anyway.

https://www.fema.gov/locations/texas

In addition to that cozy FEMA assistance they've been reaching out for, all federal transportation funding would end, which includes highway maintenance and airports.

The US military bases are now closed, so they'd need to maintain their own military. However, all the defense and space industry jobs have been relocated. Border patrol is also a federal agency.

No, Texas isn't landlocked, but those international ports would lose the majority of their business as US shipping relocates. The Gulf fishing industry gets cut down dramatically now that they likely can't fish in US territorial waters. The state's universities lose all federal funding, defense industry research funding, medical funding, and agricultural research funding.

Medicaid, federal crop insurance, small business loans, etc. etc.

It all makes for a fascinating thought experiment, but in reality severing ties from the US would be economically catastrophic for them. Even if China decided to help.

Again, they will say all their troubles stem from whatever immigration policy is being set by the Feds that is requiring them to spend more money on immigration issues than, say, infrastructure issues. Abbott is callously sending migrants to other places and, so far, the majority of those places are saying they need additional resources.

What makes you think that a state that has pretty much commandeered its part of the southern border (a US asset) would not take other US assets/make a claim to resources in waters bordering their land if they decided to split?

Again, the longer this situation fester, the more chance of this thing going south. China would love the oil and natural gas.

SCOTUS's 1868 decision directly contradicts Texas' right to secede. It plainly conveys that unless the States vote you out, you have to directly declare war: https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/74/700/

The following year, The Supreme Court case Texas v. White ruled, “The union between Texas and the other States was as complete, as perpetual, and as indissoluble as the union between the original States. There was no place for reconsideration or revocation, except through revolution or through consent of the States.” - Chief Justice Salmon P. Chase.:
https://scholar.google.com/scholar_case?case=1134912565671891096&hl=en&as_sdt=6&as_vis=1&oi=scholarr

Even as recently as 2006, constitutional philosopher (and notorious shitbag) Antonin Scalia wrote, "The answer is clear, if there was any constitutional issue resolved by the Civil War, it is that there is no right to secede. Hence, in the Pledge of Allegiance, ‘one Nation, indivisible.’"

It's very simple, the only way for Texas to secede is if all of the other states and the federal government agreed to let them go *OR* if Texas won a war against the rest of America. Neither will ever happen. They can threaten it as often as they want.

That Biden will get elected and hand it all over to her? Apparently it's what Republicans are very fearful of.

... aggressively working with the neighbors that are down to ensure our safety and well-being. No one wants roving bands of criminals coming into our block to loot/rob/assault/rape/etc. so there's the common goal we can bond around.

Not just for civil war, that's the basic plan for any type of catastrophe (like a prolonged blackout or severe earthquake).

Do you have an updated Passport? Yes

Do you have GTFOOD money saved? Over $50K immediately liquid

Do you have friends/family with a bug out bunker and firepower? Identified a few friends with firepower.

Do you have any stockpiles of supplies (First Aid, canned food, water) left over from COVID? Started replenishing the non-perishables we have in store container.

Currently refreshing our Spanish and considering French or Italian.
