Some people enjoy listening to people argue, but I'm not in that camp. If the guest is good/interesting, it keeps Face & Willie from arguing, for some time.

I respect Scarface and his place in hip-hop but I wouldn't say he is in my top MCs list, but this is one of the most soulful Tinydesk, sheeit, hip-hop performances in general I've ever seen. This is dope.

It's cuz he writes and performs from the soul. Songs that are over 20 to 30 years old continue to have new life.. especially with everything he's been through since then such as his medical issues not too long ago. His music continues to carry so much emotional weight, especially the songs he picked for this performance.

When you can create that range of experience over a 20 minute set? Get a closer from Black Thought, and still hold your own.

When she opens with Ink Pata I was hooked. That vibe is how I want to start my mornings.

It would be sporadic and hella late from the YouTube release. Around the time of Jazmine Sullivan’s episode, they just turned the faucet off completely.

Face as bandleader, performer, musician, and poet. This is one of those unexpected hip hop moments like the LOX Verzuz where a performer shows up and makes a statement that even long-time fans will be like "oh, word? It's like that?"

It was beautiful to see so much vitality and joy from him and scary to think we almost lost him a few years ago.

Brad Jordan is one of the most criminally underrated mc's ever in hip-hop. You can feel every word he spits from those classic verses, the musicianship was excellent, background vocalist and most notably Mike Dean is a monster on the keys. He looked high as a kite but was killing that Moog!

Ask his biggest fans what album they like best and you’ll get about 6-7 different answers.

I’m an “Untouchable” guy, but damn his catalogue is so good. Not one miss. Deeply Rooted was incredible too - probably the number 2 album I run now.

Was going to go to DC to see Face on his last tour but couldn’t pull it off, and don’t remember why. Regret not making it happen at all costs, now. There will never be another.

Face is neck and neck with Nas and Phonte as my favorite.

More and more over the past decade or nearly I’ve been doing the mid30s thing where that white heads especially so where I find less time for rap as I get back into all the other shit, so I lean on my RYM lists even just to remind myself of recommendations let alone what I like…

But I knew immediately I was throwing Untouchable tomorrow morning just a few chords into Mary Jane and I can’t say even in my deepest, most blowed years I ever got stuck on that album, or song.

I’m sure somebody’s had words for that moment when you can’t sleep because you just keep wondering how similar your death will be to those you’ve known or even just read about, this was that on a root beer float.

How the fuck did this crew turn “Seen a Man Die” into a party? Let alone effortlessly groove it into Fuck Faces?

Fuck, Face.
