I'm so fucking grateful, and lightweight surprised shit flipped this way.

That being said....

there are a few things that ain't in alignment.

:/

One would think I could take those things in stride, and yet...

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do about that, just yet.

Not saying that happened for you, but you sound surprised things took a good turn.

My wife had an unexpected good turn come out of nowhere. She was prepared when the moment, but a little bit of good luck changed her life in a very significant way.

I feel like I've been working all these angles for so long and all I need is a little bit of luck for things to pop....and I am still waiting for that moment.

A month ago I took a basic swim instructor class and now I can’t swim
I keep trying to exhale under the water (the way you’re supposed to)
As opposed to just breathe when I can, and now I’m not coordinated

this is one of the few times in life where I'm actually scared.

she's 72, diabetic, and definitely moving around slower. she's having bariatric surgery. it's supposed to help rid the body of diabetes by causing a dramatic weight loss.

I went to pre-op and to visit the doc last week. he was reassuring. explained things clearly in answering my questions, but it didn't get rid of my nerves about it.

not sure what this recovery will look like, but I keep telling myself she'll be fine in a few weeks. she looking forward to a great outcome. I'll have to ride that wave.

Y'all buy those labels, I was born supreme

Is she having a laparoscopic surgery or is it open? I had an open Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass in 2000 and it was very tiring to recover.

Weight loss can definitely help managing type 2 diabetes, it's a good stragey.

I hope she does okay.

Wishing you and her good luck.

My doctor, who is head of weight loss in our hospital system, thinks these GLP-1 agonists are the future of diabetes management and weight loss management.

Just curious, I'm on WeGovy (Ozempic is the same drug, just a different name) and I'm wondering if her physician considered putting her on Ozempic or Mounjaro for diabetes with the benefit of weight loss?

it'll be with a scope. Doc said it would be an easier recovery. Open sounds like a lot to do.

I agree with the premise of it. just worried that this process will be a heavy toll on her at this stage in her life.

She's been on Ozempic for a while and it has helped. However, it seems to have reached it's peak in getting her weight down. hopefully this will get it to where it the diabetes isn't a thing of the past.
