"Name all the rappers who have passed away"
I’m making a playlist of all the rappers who have transitioned. After Trugoy passed away I’ve been listening to Rock Kane Flow a lot. 2 people on that track are gone. Its crazy.
Then I threw on Mac Millers Objects In the Mirror. That shit is dope.
Then I wanted to hear another song with a Werlitzer Keyboard so I player The Roots No Alibi.. and realized.. “oh shit, Malik B and Hub”
and I just returned from lunch and Heavy D came on and I realized its time to make a playlist of rappers who transitioned.
Post up a name and even a song or songs that

Yo, I had to link up the o.g. video for the track, which is the most ridiculous video I've ever seen. I used to watch it on Soul Beat back in the days. A zero budget early 1990s artifact.

Which is weird cuz while he always hovered around my top 10, had you asked me 10 years ago I would've thought that the deaths of Trugoy, or Phife, or even DMX, would've hit me harder cuz De La and Tribe were such staples of my youth, and were two groups that played a huge part in why I got into hip hop in the first place. And DMX was just such a sad story.
But there was and is just something so ... I dunno, intriguing ? and of course tragic, about DOOM and his entire story. The mystery of it all. Etc. Additionally, following years of being a huge DOOM fan in college, I didn't really listen to him as much for the last several years, partly because I got burnt out from listening to him so much from 2002 thru like 2007ish.
But then I quite literally listened to *nothing* other than DOOM's music for the first like 6 months after we heard of his passing. That's not a joke. It wasn't til summer that I got back to playing anything else at all. Drove my wife crazy. "Ugh the guy with the mask again ?!" haha.
it really still bothers me...a lot. I remember hoping like hell it was a gag (shitty, shitty gag...but, still). I played Doomsday so fucking much that I honestly got tired of it and had to take a break from it.

He's just the most interesting person. It really sucks he's no longer with us.
And I got tired of a lot of the songs/albums I played to death, too. I made a playlist of my favorites (which was basically every song haha) and got burnt out from like the top 10. My Spotify Wrapped for 2021 was hilarious.

released after she passed on the House Party 2 soundtrack. I was mad as hell when I heard she passed because this song was 🔥 and I felt like this song was going to make her into a star.
