"Saw Jeezy perform with the Atlanta Symphony "
It was sooooo dope. Black tie event. Black folks were looking amazing. He performed TM 101 with a few hits sprinkled in. I know this has been done before, but it hit different to experience it in this setting with some of the same people I saw in the clubs in 2006 now all grown up!

Honestly, the atmosphere was so dope that it made up for the lackluster performance of the collaboration of Jeezy and the orchestra. He had a full band that basically overpowered the sound of the orchestra. There was no orchestra solos. Also they were positioned behind glass barriers so you could barely see the orchestra. I was surprised by the execution being that Adam Blackstone was the musical director. But the overall vibe of the show was super dope…it was the first of the Classically Ours series so I expect them to get better

We perform with an orchestra but we steer clear of having a drummer and any additional rhythm section accompaniment for this reason. Our DJ provides the backbeat, so no need for shields to prohibit vibrations and sound bleed.
They probably relied on the sheer size of the ensemble and weren't efficiently mic'd. We've run into that at some venues as well, but with the high production budget they have, I'm surprised to hear that it wasn't executed superbly.
Conversely, there are some Yeezy joints that I would think would've come off with a live orchestra.
