whether we want to admit it or not this is a thing for most of us in that 40+ plus range, the scene in Bad Boys 3 with Martin dyeing Will's beard in the hospital was funny.
Watching sports on tv I see a lot of the ex-athlete commentators on the back of their 40's trying to fight father time. On TNT last night Shaq had a fresh dye job on his beard. Jalen Rose's hairline on ESPN has become legendary. Kendrick Perkin's hairline is better than when he was playing.
Personally I got lil gray coming in my beard and stache, I see my barber twice a week and he's able to trim most of it out but not as much lately and we joke about whether or not I should start dyeing my shit. I've been resisting because my female friends tell me they like the gray but I won't act like I don't think about it lol.

My facial hair is pure salt & pepper. Got some in my eyebrows too. And gray nose hairs make it look like something is up in there all the time.
The crazy thing is that the hair on my head is a strong 98%-99% black. There are a couple of stray grays up there but you gotta look for them. But as dark as it is my hair is thinning so I've been shaving my head for a couple of years.
My girl keeps saying she hopes I end up looking like Peter from the Atlanta Housewives.
when people say hair, i only think of up top cuz the idea of dyeing anything but my hair (if i had any) just seems weird, personally. always has. dyeing my beard, eyebrows, etc. is out of the question.
i got grays and i fux w/ em. i never once feared going gray.
wife not having it. she says i look too young w/ no facial hair.
but i do rock the baldy up top.
funny thing is i got a bad haircut in like 1998 and shaved my shit off and liked it so i was shaving my head even when i had hair. thus, it was an easy transition to ACTUALLY losing my hair, lol.

went grey kind of early in my 30s but always kept a skin fade until like 35-36 when I grew it out. that's when people started commenting at my job 'damn we must work you pretty hard'

I’m not too worried about gray hair on my head since I’m losing it faster than it seems to be turning gray. I figure I have about 2-3 years left of decent amount of head hair before I have to make a decision of what I want to do.
Beard HS some gray on the sides but I imagine I’ll just rock the gray beard look.

I was on a professional zoom meeting that got sidetracked because a co-worker decided to let his grays grow in a little. Another co-worker called a whole TV timeout to talk about dude's face. And she wasn't even flirting she was just marveling. The greys do something to some of them.

i'm mid-40s now so 20 years of getting used to greying. hair is still mostly dark brown but there are a lot of greys on the sides and in my beard. i do have this cool and distinct paulie walnuts-style grey streak on my right side only that goes from the temple to the ends, which is about 1.5 ft long these days

This is more of a cultural thing with black men, and goes back to to the days when black men were using lye to straighten their hair. I remember going to church as a kid and seeing most of the old men with dyed hair. Their hair would be jet black on top, but there would be visible strands of white and gray new hair growth. It was ugly.
Now there are young black men dying their hair and thickening their hair with with spray-in hair fibers. We’re talking young black men with a good, natural head of hair, but they want their hair to be unnaturally dark and precise to have a perfect movie/tv look
Men now spend almost the same amount of time getting a hair cut that women do with getting their hair done, because men’s hair cut is no longer a simple haircut anymore. Guys are getting enhancements added, hair dye treatment, and I have even seen guys get lace front beards added to their face.
You want to keep your appearance natural and organic. There is no need to dye your hair just to acquire some type of aesthetic that you feel will make you more presentable in society.
In high school. I did use relaxers in my hair. So I was guilty of falling into that whole mind program of wanting to have GOOD HAIR, and following what my peers were doing…..But once I read message to the black man and started learning about my heritage, I instantly cut that crap out of my hair and never looked back. It was the same self-revelation that Malcolm X went through.
It’s all a program.

I have grays in my hair and beard. My wife (who has been graying since her 20's...all the women on her father's side are like this) LOVES the grey in my beard and I actually dig it, too. The gray in the hair, though...I'm not quite ready for it, man. So I do use the little Just for Men Shampoo that gradually takes the gray out. It does just enough that I don't look like them cats who go jet black, looking like they got a Darth Vader helmet on. Maybe in a couple of years, but I dunno, right now I'm just not ready. Wifey wants me to let it all rock. I think I started getting some grays in my early 30s. Still pretty light but noticeable. Doesn't bother me. Looks like I got lucky and don't have a receding hairline. I have thick hair too so if I thin out it won't be the worst thing.
I just wish my beard would connect to my sideburns lol

C-Webb called the bogus time-out when I was 8-9, meaning they’ve all been adults for a loooong time before me. I got comparable hair length to both of them and easily got more grays than them combined.

I'm not ready to break out the dye yet. I'm accepting my fate so far. I'm in my mid-40s. I'm not cool. I'm not lit. I can't do the new dances and make it look right. I'm not wearing my clothes like young dudes. I only rock with some of the music that isn't obviously made with my old azz in mind.
It might be easy for me to say this since most of my grays are in my beard, I still have a decent amount of hair, and I'm married AND my wife has a few years on me. But this is where I'm at.
