All the super-radical folks in college have turned out two ways:
1. Either complete 180 and became radical the other way. I am thinking about a couple of "fuck these white devil hotep" types who have since got good jobs, gone to business school and now are ann ryan pull your yourself up by your bootstrap near republicans (I don't know any trump fans but close).
2. Or they become more disenfranchised and because they have no buy in into the system, have become more extreme and want to burn the whole system down. Like no decent job or even kids so they don't mind if it all descends into chaos.
Some folks are just drawn to extreme positions. We don't mind it as much when they are "on our side" but many are just as prone to switch on you when circumstances change.

Given what's already been said here, this isn't even a good joke. The very post you're responding to quotes... "white ppl have reason to believe the system aims to protect them" Therefore, white people would get the injection feeling that it's safe. Given the history of PoC (specifically Black ppl) regarding so-called medical aid, it's pretty naive to have the same trust. I've already communicated this tho. White people tend to play dumb about racism tho, so you're not exactly surprising me here.

Man... this situation has really shown us who'll eat up whatever the powers that be tell us to eat up. I'm a huge skeptic, and even I'm surprised at some of the people who were manipulated by the most basic tactics.

Like the idea that we shouldn't question vaccines or be suspicious of them is crazy talk given the history of this country and big pharma.
I am in a whole other argument with okpers arguing me down that the government can not be trusted with law enforcement (and points are being made) but then folks about face when it comes to trusting the government when it comes to rolling out a vaccine during a pandemic.
I think my position is consistent in that I don't think you can trust government/law enforcement but still then we need it so you have to manage it and have tremendous oversight.
Even with the vaccine I think there may be a big unknown with long term effects but its the best option we have at the moment. In a cost benefit analysis I believe its better to take on the UNKNOWN long term risks of vaccines versus the short term KNOWN risks of catching COVID.
I don't know why folks would put all their faith in a government/big business vaccine but don't think the government can handle without abuse putting cameras on subways.
How are folks bridging that inconsistency?
At least Brother Sun and Boogie are consistently don't trust the government for shit.
Anyway, I admit that I see very few serious knowledgable folks without an agenda questioning the vaccine and I do think there is a chilling effect because folks really can't handle nuanced positions. Like I think my position is only lightweight nuanced but am sure a RJCC-type won't be able to follow it or keep up.
