I think she just got caught up in the peak of "cancel culture" and said fuck it not worth the fight or stress. Has Jack Davey spoken about it? She worked there prior to blowing up from this site and going on to work with Prince and Quest. Being a dick boss doesn't seem like a canceable offence, if it's even true. People being offended by bosses sometimes is just a POV or hurt feelings over the stresses of the job. Being offended doesn't always mean something offensive was done, people have a hard time figuring out the two.
I can see her moving on to Netflix or something and doing her Conan, Letterman or Jon Stewart thing. Wouldn't be surprised if she has a podcast that gets bought out like Smartless.

there's def no shortage of people in hollywood who are monumental pricks, and not in just a hard-ass boss type of way, but legit abusive behavior that i've seen first hand... driving people to breakdowns because they can. it's just a different level of bullying that i never saw as so pervasive working in other environments. certainly not saying it's everywhere, and it's generally written off as you gotta have elephant skin in this business. but it doesn't mean there shouldn't be a reckoning of sorts.

Like someone mentioned, she been on a while. Her salary and show were expensive. Her syndicators wanted to pay less or renegotiate, so they plant these stories.
As many articles there were about how terrible she was, there were rarely (I didn't see any) where people went on record and said how terrible she was.
I mean do we think she treated folks worst than Wendy Williams? Dave Letterman? John Stewart? Bill Maher?

Again I never said Ellen was a saint more like she doesn't seem to be any different than any other day time host.
Even when you look at the allegations in the article. None of the allegations aren't against her. It's against her producers and senior staff.
Im not saying the article is a lie, I am saying the article doesn't seem to say very much about Ellen. It seems strange that it would be the thing leading to the end of her show.
I am not trying to be a big Ellen defender, I am just saying it all seems strange and I think there is more going on then what the public is seeing.

I agree with pov that something bigger behind the scenes could be the real issues but I think the article is correct.
The other daytime host are not using "be kind" to sell.
Producers and senior staff would not do all that they were accused of if they didn't think they could get with it. No consequences from the top is a green light.
If everything in the article, is taking place on a show with Ellen's name where she has to show up long enough to tape, and Ellen has no clue about any of it after years in Hollywood, I think that says a lot.
I agree it could be bigger then what was in the press but that would make Ellen look worse.

and it was all a complete facade.
Be lying if I said i wasn't blown away when I read some of the stories about what its like working for her. I think its hard not to buy into the image some of these celebs portray. Especially when they're a talk show host on tv everyday.
Having said all that, I still remember vividly the "coming out" episode on her sitcom. I'd like to think that was a helpful and inclusive moment in our culture.

Buddy said Wendy Williams.. lol. She is a shitty persona but it could all be an act and she could be the nicest person irl.
I used to book shows in college and I met a lot of rappers. The “gangsta” rappers and hood dudes were always nice and gracious for the most part, hell.. a lot of them were funny af.
but the positive conscious rappers? man.. 75% of them were pretty full of themselves and shitty af or lacked people skills.
tldr: we don’t know these people, lol
