I will say it does make it harder to enforce bedtime for toddlers.
“Its still light out daddy!” but by the time I finish the story and get them settled in.. its dark enough for them.

If this goes through, during the winter the sun won't rise in some of the most populated places until 8 or 8:30, or 8:30 to 9. In Michigan and parts of the northern continental states, it won't be until 9:30.
I'm so-so on the whole permanent DST thing. Yes, getting dark early sucks and has back been fucking with my internal clock a lot more in the last few years, but at this point it only lasts like four months. And losing an hour every year really only sucks for a day or two. I'm in the "be careful of what you wish for" camp.
