(And my custom wired in-ear-monitors for when I'm playing on stage.) Besides that I have multiple sets of wireless options:
AirPods Pro (VERY much worth the price difference for the Pros to get the multiple silicone mold options for fit.)
Jabra Elite 75ts (these actually fit even better than the AirPods Pro, though there is less direct iOS integration. If I was an Android user I'd go with the Jabras without question (either the 75ts or the newer 85ts)
I used to have the PowerBeats true wireless buds (I forget the model) which are nice because they hook over the ears for extra security separate from fit.
If earbuds won't work for your ears regardless of silicone molds, go with wireless on ear headphones. I have set of JBL 400BT wireless headphones but there are tons of options there depending on if you want them more for sports (waterproof, and more durable) or more for music listening while relaxing.

I find wireless create a weird sound in my head sometimes. I have Beats Flex and those make noises if you move the strap. And I had PowerBeats pro but I found my ear lobes got sensitive after an extended time.
The wired Earpods have these advantages: No weird noises. Built in controls easy to use. Cheap and replaceable.

with that said.... I found my old 1st (or 2nd?) generation iPod Touch while doing deep house cleaning over the summer...amazingly I ALSO found the proprietary charging cable! Charged it up and it still had the bulk of my library on it... No lie...it was kinda fun using it as my sole music source for about a week ..even tethered to some old wired headphones I had laying around...
I don't doubt that wired headphones will make some sort of retro resurgence at some point in the future..... and you stubborn heads will be ON TREND lol...

Increasingly not really viable without also having appropriate adapter nearby...but then again...this isn't about backup, it's about primary use.

Samsung Phones have two way wireless charging, place the wireless earbud case on the back of the phone and top off if necessary. If you have iPhone, then the same wire that charges the phone charges the airpods, and you also have the option for wireless charging. If you have android, they all use USB C...and any modern wireless ear bud or headphone worth buying will also use USB C for charging.

That's a personal issue....but it also kinda backs up my point that most modern wireless earbuds have such a great enough battery life that you actually forget to charge them since you're so used them always being charged and ready...

I tried Bluetooth headphones a number of years ago and liked them for the most part.
But this came before earbuds that weren't cordless hit the scene. I don't think I like having the loose earbuds. I rode the bus for a number of years. Jostling back and forth on the bus seemed like a recipe for one of them falling out.
My last phone, an LG G5 came with a custom sound processor that wasn't accessible using Bluetooth. The sound with that phone was really good and wasn't worth giving up.
Also, I found the sound quality to be lacking in wireless headphones. I last used them a few years ago so I assume the quality is better, but I'm good with wired headphones and don't see myself upgrading unless a new phone lacked a headphone jack.

this is a weird one, but, on long road trips, my kids take over the radio and we end up listening to kids podcasts and stories, which is fine sometimes, but after hearing the same stuff on repeat, I set the audio balance to hit the backseat only while I drive in silence up front. SO, it kinda hit me...what if I got a pair of bone induction headphones to listen to podcasts during long drives. My understanding, from a cyclist friend is that you can ride a bike in the city and still hear everything around you, so if that's the case then driving with them on could maybe work?

The flip side of the ones I have staying stable on my head is that the area that they sit in gets mildly sore after a long wear. I would hope a set that’s not cheap bullshit would feel better, overall.
I would say, get a highly rated pair from somewhere with a good warranty and return policy. I think my mom spent $80 on hers and she swears by them, while my pair was sub-$30 and the results reflect that.

Went for the Beats Studio 3’s about 3 years ago. Love them in terms of comfort, used them to work out for awhile. They’re kindve my overall go to headphones for YouTube, podcasts, and some music listening - particularly if I’m going to bed or doing something around the house.
Bought a pair of Skullcrusher Evos - it’s like having some subs in your ears. Bass is crazy. They’ve got a base slider adjustment knob and they rattle almost like PS3 controllers. Gimmicky but fun as hell. I use these a lot when I’m just listening and doing nothing else.
Recently bought the Powerbeats Pro’s for working out and running. I hate earbuds but those big overear ones aren’t great for working out - too big, they fall off, and get too sweaty and hot. Powerbeats Pro with the ear hooks are perfect for me.

Ive had them over a year and they still last and the audio is great. The over the ear rubber piece stops them from falling out. I even bought a second pair as a back up because they work so well.

Even with that, they charge pretty quickly in their little case. These are the ones that got me away from wires forever. I walk in them. I shoot on my driveway basketball goal in them. I'll clean up in the backyard with them on. They basically never fall out. And I was ALWAYS worried about earbuds falling out (small ears).

I have a cheap pair of buds I use for the gym since I'm less concerned with sound quality and more concerned with not ruining an expensive pair of headphones.

right sometimes I have on reading glasses, a mask, and when I try to add any type of headphones to the situation it becomes a mess lol

They fit real nice and sound great, especially considering they're cheap as hell now. I used to walk around with Sennheiser HD595s hooked up to my iPod Touch and that 3-foot cord curled up into my pocket, lmao.
I just don't trust Bluetooth headsets still. I have both versions of the Playstation-branded headphones and while the 3D audio and all that can be pretty neat, I still think it sounds a little thin compared to normal headphones. They also will cut out from time to time or lose a channel for a second or two which I would never want out taking the bus or walking around. Maybe most earbuds aren't like that anymore but these are the BT headphones I have and they don't suppress my suspicion of the format any.

Most people don't even know about those and can't tell the difference.
I worked in Systems Administration and my tech lead is an audiophile. There IS a difference in audio with expensive headphones, paired with a DAC and HIGH bit rate audio files.

Much more compact than some of the Fiio's and just a neat form factor in general.
Although I don't use it much anymore...my DragonFly Black made a notable difference in sound on my measly headphones.. Philips Audio Philips SHP9500.
I used it on my iPad Mini 6 via a USB C to USB A adapter to test the Apple Music lossless and to my surprise it worked and activated Purple light with ease! FYI, the dragonfly lights up different colors to indicated the sample rate of the music you're playing, Purple indicates MQA... so it's a cool way to verify whether or not you're really getting hi-res audio from your streaming service of choice.

i mostly use my momentum 3 cans, so its not a budget option but the convenience of not having wires is well worth any small compromise on sound quality and having to charge them twice a week.
i also have some samsung buds that i use when im away from my desk and im happy with their sound too.
i do have some wired HD 558 for home use but i cant tell you the last time i used them.

I've had several pairs of excellent wired headphones including the Berodynamic DT770, which I use for recording. But there is nothing like the sound of the Nura "Nuraphone" headphones in my opinion...crisp, loud and perfect when listening to bass heavy music.
