"Rev.James Cleveland-Give Me My Flowers"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p91x-W3zsQo

this song has been around forever mainly played at old black people's funerals but "giving people flowers" has recently entered pop culture lexicon and you hear everybody from rappers to sports announcers say it to the point where I feel like is getting worn out and I wonder who made it popular again.

The first modern use of it recall was by Noreaga on Drink Champs was anyone using it regularly before him?

I grew up in the Black church in a family of Black church-goers, but I never thought that phrase was a unique cultural thing.

I feel like the most recent surge from my perspective is the Black and POC queer communities on social media, and then that bled into general millennial social media. For awhile it was still mostly Black and POC folks using it -- but Ive seen it coopted more and more in the past several months
