Hopefully you're better now and can get back on it!
I need to take some time off just to reset and finish up the year. I have some time set for end of October/early November..trying to make it to that without losing my mind over the silly stuff that goes on from time to time.
Regardless, I need to dial it down quite a bit. I've caught myself caring far too much lately. I know better / they won't be naming no buildings after me...surely. I need to remember this, cool it down, and put more energy in on the home front.

nothing you can do if the body says we sick.
I have an interview today for a cyber sec job. looking forward to it. they don't even know about my new cert. hopefully that'll be a nice surprise for them and gives me a leg up.
lastly, this journey over the last 2 years has put me in touch with a few good folks that are pushing/pulling me along. it's been really cool to see that, especially at this stage of my career.

it had been around 2 years since the last time i was sick. worse, it was after coming back from a business trip. definitely thought there was a chance it was covid but it was mostly a runny/stuffy nose.
got tested, negative. took about two full days to get rid of it. still have a bit of a dry throat because of it.
i worked from home and it wasnt fun lol
not feeling today at all. the lack of organization and steady direction from above is taking a toll. some days i feel like i can step in to help, today im wondering why i havent applied elsewhere.

cool down. I WFH and switch between bedrooms for my “office” because my master bedroom gets too hot to sleep in in warm weather. I am ready for the temperature to change so I can switch.

great team. great manager. everyone gets along. seems like some folks are really busy and others, like me, might get some work to do. that work is something like put a call together or update the status. you know, real heavy lifting.
with that extra time, I prepared and taught a class to internal folks. did some volunteering on things outside my comfort zone. joined various groups related to where I'm trying to get. also got 4 certs over the past couple of years. a lot of studying on work time.
now it's time for the next job to pop. interview this week went really well.
it came up on my news feed a couple weeks back and i found the question funny. the advice wasnt bad but i dont think its likely to be followed.
in trying to find it i came across others complaining that their employee was playing video games after they were done with their workload and was trying to fire them. all the responses were calling him out for trying to fire his most efficient worker lol

How is this a problem? Give them more work. If there isn't more work to do, see if they are inclined to move up, and then give them some of their bosses work to do. Or re calibrate the workload so that he does just a little bit more, thereby making everyone's life a little easier.

I pray it works out.
Everywhere we reach out to is on some “we never seen it this bad, sorry.. no room at the inn”
going out of town to see the inlaws and cant wait. I really like my inlaws and I love the ocean.

Dope, whereabouts?
I miss the ocean. I used to be able to see it from my balcony.

Which means there is no way I would trust her to pick up my kids after school. smh.. Black people (joking, but not really)
We are headed to Southport. Small port town below Wilmington, NC.
