The main reason I say that I because I used to listen to his podcast with some regularity roughly 7 or 8 years ago. He's wasn't this out there with his nonsense.

The saddest part to me is that folks will continue to look to him as a source of guidance and information, especially for his COVID takes.

For folks that actually listen to his podcast since he took the Spodify deal, has Eddie Bravo been on there since? I can only imagine what the two of them would sound like in these days.

he said he was willing to vote for four more years of Trump rather than vote for Biden. That's when I decided to stop messing with Rogan.

The link here has more info on his comments: https://heavy.com/news/2020/04/joe-rogan-trump-biden-vote/

The sort of guy who won't take the vaccine because "he has questions" but willingly guzzles horse dewormer.

The sort of guy who endorsed Bernie then voted for Trump.

The sort of guy who thinks Jordan Peterson is one of the great thinkers of the day.

This sort of guy.

it was kinda subtle for those that dont stay up on the memeification of the right but he was rocking those space force shirts, rocking hawaiian shirts that the boogaloo boys adopted, fearmongered about antifa, promoted the harvard blacks vs asians discrimination straw man, elevated tim pool, black rifle coffee, etc.

his biggest point of 'radicalization< (like most that white comedic/alt podcast universe) was the george floyd protests and watching a lot of prominent white people come out in support of black lives matter. something about that whole period broke a lot of these 'apolitical' white boy types that tiptoed around their racial/social regressiveness.[br />
personally...i think he was a trump supporter all along but still felt kinda silly going all in publicly (like a lot of white people). dude talked about biden like some existential threat to the country...while always framing trump as just some wild and crazy rollercoaster with a ton of comedic value.

I listened semi-regularly pre-pandemic, maybe a month into covid seems to be the spot where he became personally harder to stomach. His move to TX predictably shifted his guest list even further right, as well as himself. I doubt he'd admit any of that though

I still think calling him Trump is a misread of who he is, and i'll listen every know and then if there's a guest i'm interested in...or until something like masks comes up and i'm like yeah, i'm good.
He's always been on this kinda regular bro anti-woke, be kind to everyone, just asking questions guy. but he's dangerous in a unique way, given al the worlds he exists in. He gives space and credibility to way too many trash people, in this case Bret Weinstein (another anti-woke idw, 'i'm not a trump guy but.." lefty) with his hosre de-wormer bs.

Rogan's gonna be fine, and people are gonna die taking his advice

were too much for Rogan to bear, which I'm guessing played large part in how he's responding to COVID-19 to this day.

I'm not a California resident and if I remember correctly, you are, so I ask you; where the Gavin Newsom COVID restrictions that over the top?

The one thing that's odd to me is that I can't imagine the restrictions hurt him that deeply financially to affect his day-to-day affairs because he was quite rich before COVID hit and should have been able to save enough money even if restrictions stopped him from making money from doing his terrible stand-up act.

or Spain, South Korea, Thailand, New Zealand, South America etc (i.e. like 90% of the world had harsher lockdowns in place than California). And when you take into account California having a population greater than many countries one can understand why Newsom did what he did.

to describe having to order take-out, it's hard to take them seriously about anything.

I'm not even sure if Rogan used that but it's a safe guess. his covid reaction trajectory seemed to follow most pissed off white people's. It was a few weeks of we're all in this together/this is serious, until the death demographics dropped and then it was 'but muh freedoms'

i do remember Rogan railing against.. and i don't even remember if it was Newsom or Mayor Garcetti said something about masking up so we can get some of our freedoms back.. and him overreacting like it was some sort of Stalin shit. It was so dumb. I don't really have patience for anti-masker shit. Wearing a mask is maybe the easiest 'sacrifice' i've ever had to make.

it was around when he was just talking about his move to tx but i kinda started checking out then

i also think he's a big part of the reason this biden is senile old man who doesn't even know what room he's in narrative is even a thing

because we all know private commercial enterprises setting their own rules and safety measures to protect their financial bottom line is something autocrats embrace lol.

that shit is only slightly less crazy than marjorie taylor greene railing against 'corporate communism'.

if he had a guest who came on the next day who corrected that, he'd probably agree with them too.

then two days later he'd have dan crenshaw on and he'd flip it back.

its only a matter of time until he has Trump on. During the last election he said he had no desire to meet him, but last time i listened to his show about a month ago he said he met Trump at a fight and they exchanged kind words

You hear it on Chapo and Red Scare almost more frequently than anything else they talk about, and a lot of my politically active friends last summer were all in on defund/socialist platforms and spent a lot of late nights drinking the pain away lamenting that after everything all we're left with is a guy with dementia

Pretty much par for the course during the early days of the pandemic: non-essential businesses closed, restaurants had to be take-out only, super-markets and Costco/Target/Wal-Mart/etc. open. The usual suspects were bitching about not being able to play golf or take their boats out or going to a tattoo parlor and all of their typical bullshit that you saw playing out in states where there is/was a Democrat governor, but all of that seemed like a set-up to push the Newsom recall fiasco.

At some point he jumped down the same rabbit hole he created with the youtube algorithm and hasn't been able to get out.

He also.... is EXTREMELY gullible. A lot of his views are framed by fake health guru's and grifters with degrees and he can't tell the difference.

there was some beef that shook up that whole world like a few weeks ago between the fresh and fit podcast and some niggas named aba and preach. shit was highly entertaining.

its also sad tho. i remember al bundy and no maam and how they were universally mocked for their delusional sense of victimhood. now theres basically an online environment ran by no maam thats raising an entire generation of sexually/socially frustrated males.

Hasn't proven effective against covid but people who talk about it as a horse/cattle drug only sound like idiots. It has prevented millions of cases of river blindness in humans and is very safe. When I was 22 I took it for scabies and it helped end an absolutely awful stretch of my life.

But I do remember being on a medical forum then where people were talking about sourcing it at feed shops because it is a fraction of the price. I didn't have insurance then (don't now, either--didnt see a doctor when I had covid) and was like hm but I did get the human stuff from a pharmacy.

The discoverers (inventors?) of ivermectin won the nobel prize for it btw.

No real point here except that ivermectin is a real and afaik safe drug for humans that helped me a lot. I've seen the horse paste stuff and it does seem a bit of fighting ignorance with ignorance

i mean, other than combating the horse past meme, this nobel prize factoid people are throwing out there is pretty meaningless.
they didn't win a nobel prize for ivermectin being treatment against viral respiratory infections.

>No real point here except that ivermectin is a real and afaik
>safe drug for humans that helped me a lot. I've seen the horse
>paste stuff and it does seem a bit of fighting ignorance with

it's completely fair to point out that it's not just horse paste, but when you have people literally risking their lives and others by either pushing an unproven treatment, or going to pet stores and ingesting it into their bodies, it's kinda weird to reserve the word idiot for the people who are talking about it in a callous way vs what's actually dangerous, and potentially fatal.
