Since they moved him to Phoenix and into the ICU he's been on high pressure oxygen. They have not intubated him, and he's been there for several days.

He's losing a lot of weight (he was overweight) because although he is hungry he can't eat because when he takes the oxygen mask off he is gasping for air.

They may insert a feeding tube today to maintain his nourishment.

They say the average ICU time for COVID patients like him is around 20 days.

So he might make it through.

And I'm 90% sure if he does make it that he'll refuse the vaccine.

Confession part: I'm not sure that if he makes it he'll have a good life. I think this is goin to FUCK HIM UP in a serious way.

just for a few hours.

Living with 3 women is taxing af.

The competition for my attention is serious.

its like silence is evil in this house.

my brother is coming up for Labor Day weekend. He asked me what is the agenda for the weekend? Who the fuck says that shit? Then I found out he has a new girl who is coming with him. Now it makes sense. I do not want to work to show someone a “fun” time this weekend.

but alas…

wife isn’t feeling well and took off for the next few days.

I think a small part of me was frustrated with realizing I just cant have anything to myself anymore.

so I still haven’t had 1 fucking day of remote work in an empty house to see if its as wonderful as some describe.

In response to Reply # 3

1. wasting the opportunity to exert/leverage the power that you have in that household

2. not communicating your needs clearly

combine those 2 things and I think you have a great opportunity to shift the dynamic so you can have some more of what you need for yourself in your home...whether its space, quiet, whatever

but when you solely focus on the gender dynamics, you're missing the opportunity that you have...your vision is clouded

just saying.

and they are 4 and 5.

and one of them is throwing a fake tantrum as I type this message.

Gender has nothing to do with it.. they just happened to be girls and not boys.

its not about exerting and leveraging power.

I made good money, lived well, crossed a couple of dreams off the list.

Honestly, it was the best thing to happen to me in years. Considering what it's cost everyone, that feels a little shitty to say, but hey....

It is what it is.

Five years ago I would have jumped at the opportunity to hang with the fellas and get ignorant. Now I don't know if I have the stomach for it.

Last time I did get with a bunch of the old dudes I was like, "yall still doing this?"

The biggest motivator is I would like to see some of the old cats I haven't seen in years and I don't want cats to think I am too far removed from the group. We will see.

In response to Reply # 0

3 days part from each other..they were both living in FL and unvaxxed

this is a first family death for me that wasn't aging related (and is covid related) so its been a bit hard to wrap my head around...in that part of the family, down there, most of them are unvaxxed..i hope that changes now. obviously, i won't be attending the funeral, which is on 9/11..the 20th anniversary of another super traumatic day for me (i was working in NYC that day) so nah...

then my sister and her husband, both in Orlando, got Covid. she's J&J vaxxed and he's not (conspiracy theories, tuskeegee etc blah blah). over the course of a week, she improved and he did not. he finally agreed to go to the hospital on Monday and he's still there. on oxygen as far as i know, but not a ventilator.

other than that, i'm good. about to take a road trip to Canada on Saturday...excited to get a mental break from the united states. the ArriveCan app is super easy to use and makes it really clear what you gotta do to cross the land border

In response to Reply # 0

There was one something like a year ago. We caught it, sealed off the entry point, that was that. I saw one possible entry point in a closet area, so I put a heavy book on top of it, problem solved.

Flash forward to this morning: found a rat turd on my desk. Looked around, didn't see any anywhere else. Very bizarre. I look in the closet-- my wife had removed the book. Turds all around that area. Goddammit.

So yeah, no clue if it's still hanging out in there or what. I'll set a trap or two tonight-- or maybe leave the dog out of her crate to be out on the prowl. Haven't decided. Regardless, a suboptimal development when I have to be home all day every day for work. Every single noise sounds like it could be a rat. Super distracting.

So they are trump supporters on the low, but are loud and proud antivax.

LLC Twitter is talking about all the fake investors and business people on the net giving advice. “You could have took that $10 and got an LLC, and then you’d be rich like me.” Often pushing MLM scams, bragging about meme trading, etc.

I only know this because I know this EXACT type of people. There's a whole spectrum of antivax Black folks that have some Venn diagram overlaps with conservative Black folks, woke people, Black Hebrew Israelite types, "You should be here" multi-level marketing people, anti-education folks, "you work for the man, I'm a BUSINESS man" people, and the "do the research" crowd.

A lot of these people would be low key about direct Trump support, with subtle "both sides" arguments, or making direct 45 posts but deleting once the heat got high. But they are BLATENT about anti-vax stuff along with general Covid misinformation. The people who were on the 5G/Bill Gate stuff early on, then the "it's only a flu", then anti-vax.

passed, Monday. My wife’s cuzzo, who lives in VA was able to get here and say goodbye to his mom, then they removed her from the ventilator and she passed. The memorial service is the day after Labor Day. She was good people. My wife had 5 aunts. Her father was the only boy, out of 6 kids. She was dope and accomplished and just a sweet person. She went to help her granddaughter and that was what did her in. The family on that side is looking for a place to put their anger and they seem to have landed on the granddaughter’s boyfriend. Neither she, he or her roommate is vaxxed…but they have somehow decided that dude gave it to her. Even my wife thinks it’s ridiculous, as there’s no way to truly know, but…what can you do? Feelings are hurt.
