That would send the project back to the start for calculations and every single slide would need to be updated.
I should mention that he’s only kind of helping with the project
It’s my project
He was off in Hawaii for a whole week last week
The project keeps getting changed
And he just casually floated it out with some baseline numbers like he’d done some work.
He’s gonna be big mad if I put in this two weeks and he ends up having to do all of this work that he’s proposing.

they were married for 41 years before my pops died and they said that was the reason they were able to work because they got time to fall in love again without distractions every summer

So when they balance out, since most of his money is off book, they qualify for this credit but he's been super upfront he just does this job because he likes serving tables and selling good wine, not 'cause he needs the money. I'm about to roll up on him Saturday asking what dope bottle he's gonna sponsor for the staff next week off his come up haha

Like, why are they working so hard at a 9-5, stressing about meetings, answering emails late, etc.? If it leads to early retirement then dope, but a lot of childless folks still grinding hard late in life.

Shouldn't they all be out enjoying the summer and being child-free?

I go off on cool/bad uncle rants about this shit all the time. These young folks with no entanglements, no kids, no sick meemaws, no nothing? I be on their case when they have the nerve to be acting sad, tired, and/or like they don't have time to do anything for themselves. But they BE being updated on all sorts and types of random youtubers and whatnot!? GTFOH! Where's you're random hookup partners? Why are you this out of shape? What do you mean you're not casually investing in bitcoin, meme stocks, and other shit just in case you might stumble into some 'tell everyone at your job to kiss your ass' money? Or at least 'pay off your loans and/or car' money!? Something!? You haven't practiced enough to know how to make NO decent meals, yo? Nothing? C'mon now!!!

I'll roll up on them on Friday afternoon like 'what you doing this weekend?' and sometimes they be all dreary and shit. And I don't let em slide about that shit ever. They don't know nothing about bullshit birthday parties (kids and adults). Or in-law get-togethers. Or 'we gotta go get another fridge this weekend but we're not on the same page about which one we're gonna get'. They just looking at twitter being sad looking at the Negativity Games and/or the Outrage Olympics. Like IG/tumblr/that hub/and all of the other much better/more fun shit doesn't exist!

Haha! Having kids, depending on how it goes, can damn near MAKE YOU ANTI-KID! Don't let folks lie to you. There's lots of cool things but it can be chores too. And its so wild that you can mostly 'do things right' and still end up with a psycho kid who goes off the rails in some way or another and makes your life notably less fun.

And trust me: I was 'out there' for a good while before I settled down (wife and kid). And by the time I did, it was time. I was all bro'd out..happy hours, steak nights, clubs, skrippas, bro trips, all up in the gym taking my sweet time cuz I had hella time/nobody was looking for me, big video game runs, all of that. All of the dudes around me were starting to lock in relationships, and I was starting to do shit like 'go to a bar alone cuz there was nobody to go with me'. AKA it was time!

So really, I'm certainly not pushing on anyone to run into that 'having kids' life. Just the opposite: ENJOY THIS PART OF YOUR LIFE! You'll miss your flexibility. You'll miss how quickly you can just jump up and go do whatever on random days. You will miss the lack of interruptions. And you'll think 'man, I should've done a bit more before I got tied up'. And, depending on how you're living, you might miss the part of your life where 11:30 PM was EARLY. Shiiiiiid, now? 11:30 PM now feels like 2 AM..like, I need to get something going with the wife or I need to get to sleep. If I mess around and see Lilly Singh during the week and my wife is already sleep, I know I'm living foul!

First time I had to leave early to get a sick kid I was stressed because it was a week or 2 after I was hired.

He was like: “don’t ever apologize, I have 4 kids so I know how it goes”

but I still have coworkers without kids who get upset because they hear people say “I have to work remotely because my kids..”

is it fair? no

is life fair? nope

do you want to have kids so you can also get out of work? hell no, because they know deep down its more work than working late.

Its like people who complain about folks who are getting UE or get food stamps. You can always work a poor paying gig and get food stamps if you really think those people are living the good life.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*
