too many documentaries, movies and tv show about how black people have been used and abused (slavery, criminal justice system, civil rights movement, etc) and it makes you start to feel - dare I say it - hate for white people. Then you have to take a break from that stuff because you know you need to be able to function with the white folks all around you.

Well, I am getting that way with men for the same reason. Somehow, I ended up watching several shows and movies back to back where men were gaslighting, cheating on and abusing women. I realized yesterday that I need to avoid that type of story for a minute, because I found myself watching, shaking my head and going "All men are horrible!"

My Lord! Intellectually I know that is not true, and I don't want to go around feeling that way. So I need to take a break from this story line - after I finish the last couple episodes of the two stories I am already watching, lol.

I am almost done with "Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story" and Season 2 of Genius about Picasso. Did y'll know what an ass Picasso was!?! At least 5 or 6 people in his life ended up committing suicide over shit he did/said to them. A friend (not really his fault) a young neighbor that he insulted, a wife, a mistress, and his grandson... Ugh!

It warmed my heart last week for my boss to call me begging me to come back after laying me off 3 months ago. Only to tell her that:
- I just picked up a new job
- It's at one of their biggest brand partners
- I can turn their water off and put them out of business if I really wanted to
- They gave me full WFH and will accommodate wherever I want to move in the spring when my lease is up. Old job it sucked WFH after a while because they refused to trust that we were working
- I can expense damn near anything I do. They would barely cover gas at the old gig
- Oh and I will be circling back for my biggest customers once I get settled in. Because they were very unhappy yall laid me off as the #1 employee

in short, SMDFTB hoe. good luck.

employers really aft like they are doing us a favor..

like they can’t be replaced.

In what world do you lay off your best sales rep (not sure what your official title)

I recently saw an old coworker and told her I wanted to stop by to see old friends but knew the owner would kick me off the property. She replied: “he would prolly beg you to come back to work for us”

hell sometimes i ran the warehouse and production depending on the day. used to crack our warehouse folks up taking sales calls while i'm coordinating shipping/receiving. my title (Account Exec) covered like 10% of what I did

they thought cutting me as a line item was worth more than everything i did in there and they have learned otherwise in the ~3.5 months since

I wouldn't go back even if they offered me a raise. There's just too much resentment on my part and I know how management/ownership truly is when shit gets tough.

A whole lotta screaming and hollering and slamming doors
A whole lotta not enough sleep
A whole lotta resentment over trivial shit building up
A whole lotta longing for simpler times
A whole lotta shit falling by the wayside
A whole lotta forgetting about shit that shoulda been done a week ago

Late August can’t come soon enough….legit want to fast forward through the entire summer just to get to the first week of these kids being in a physical building that ISN’T this house for at least 6 hrs per day.

Then (shit probably now) I gotta start figuring out how to get back on track…..
