the only people responsible for any GOP anything are people who support the GOP.

i am not that person so your complaint is immaterial.

the reason the slow ass turn to the left thats currently going on in the US s happening at all...is because of people like me. you should join us and help destroy the status quo which doesnt serve anyones interests

You are a pathetic person who I won't acknowledge exists further in this thread however for others who may read this

The point is political pressure from the left is pushing the democratic party in a more populist progressive direction which is more in line with what people actually want

So if you really abt defunding the police among a thousand other worthy ass goals...one should absolutely vote for and support Green party initiatives for example the vaunted Green New Deal...which is literally our party platform

and it's pretty easy to see.

list all the activities the green party has promoted in, around, and for any black communities you know of outside the election cycle (I'll take within the election cycle too if you've got em, but the list is nonexistent -- they only show up in election years making weird claims about what they could do if they got some percentage of the vote they'll never get, they don't get it, and then they don't do anything at all except pop back up later as explicit white nationalists)

I don't have to love or even believe in the democrats literally at all to know unserious people when I see them.

and i'm not going to try to convince you of anything

However, i'm stating the fact that you are wrong. I don't know much about your life, but i will make an assumption that you don't spend much time interacting with grassroots organizing spaces.

working from that assumption, I will say that the level of organizing that is needed to change the status quo does not exist on the surface level you are speaking to. Its mostly unseen by you (and by me) because its so broad, hyper local and detailed

therefore, just because you (or even me) may not be aware of such events (even thought this idea of events/activities is only one part of moving the needle) it doesn't mean they aren't happening. that is a common logical fallacy, especially in politics & organizing.

anyway, i only bothered to write this much because i respect you. normally i wouldn't bother.

in closing, if you don't want to be involved, cool. but trying to say things to undermine something you have no involvement or interest in is unnecessary.

I will support anyone who shows support for black people

if there are examples of the green party doing that, they'll have my support. you say it's a fact that I'm wrong -- literally one example of a fact would shut me the fuck up.

where is it?

this "change the status quo" bit is bullshit

there are infinite options for people to address issues, if they claim they are going to FIX POLITICS AT A NATIONAL LEVEL

they could like, hold a bake sale or something.

have they done that?

one thing that's all I'm asking for.

idk why you think I'd talk about something I haven't personally checked out. I'm the person who's had a stormfront account since the 90s because I want to see what they're saying myself. you think I haven't showed up to green party meetings to see what's on the agenda for the better part of the last two decades?

Because I have, and the answer is "fuckin nothing except whining about why people don't vote for us"

it's pretty simple. They claim to be an organization pushing for x, y, and z.

have they done it through any method other than telling people to vote for them in years with national elections?

if you have evidence this is the case, then everything I've said is wrong.

this is an easy test to pass. and as an organization they can't pass it.

show me this group organizing to do literally one thing at all ever that isn't "vote for us in national elections"

and if you can't understand that those two things aren't the same

then congratulations you are an ideal supporter of the green party and I wish you well

we'll leave the part where I haven't told you to support the Democratic Party either out entirely. that you're delusional isn't as much of an issue to me as your lack of basic comprehension.

The Green Party did not turn the Dems left lol lol

The Greens have done more to hurt the left movement than help it.

The only thing it has accomplished has tricked some *ahem* into thinking that they have personally contributed to progress. It would be cute if it weren't so damaging.

Unfortunately, you pull the party to the left from within it. Its a two party system. No matter how many times you donated to Jill Stein.

Green party as an entity has pushed the political dynamic left.

Democrats weren't talking about reparations. They ignored Conyers for decades. Greens incorporate the reparations movement into the political platform. And suddenly Dems are on it

UBI was considered a joke. Yang was dismissed. Now he's the front runner to become mayor.

Green environmental policy has been scoffed at for decades. Now...climate change is the driving factor in politics.

Green new deal is literally our party platform. It's called the GREEN new deal

On and on.

I understand you want it to be a 2 party system.

I want you to understand that system is broken and doesn't serve your interests.

Also whether you like it or not...we are dragging your bitch ass into the future.

You'll be ok.

the green party has never sent 100 million dollars to nazis, and that is a fact

because the green party has never done any fuckin thing at all

so anything that good, bad, or brought up in a bizarre way to counter something someone doesn't want to discuss because it's inconvenient, you can always say the green party didn't do it and you'll be telling the truth.

I will back you up on that one wholeheartedly

so the views/actions of a singular individual (who was the party's nominee in 2008) now negates an entire party?

does this apply to other political parties, or only the ones that operate outside of the duopoly?

when it has no harm of putting a republican in office. It's easy because they often endorse democrats.

So yeah, I can see voting green for local government stuff. No way for the Presidential ticket these days.

no one's noted one single thing the green party has ever organized to actually do

it could be a small thing

I understand that people want to feel smart

but it should be a question that you ask yourself when considering who to vote for

have they ever shown that they can manage anything at all, because they are asking to manage the government which isn't easy under the best circumstances, and it won't be the best circumstances.

the Green Party will continue to flounder.

And I am saying this a supporter who has actively worked with Greens in Baltimore.

every suggestion that would actually do something is overlooked and undermined in favor of a goal that will never be reachable

I have worked with local green campaigns here in Baltimore. We actually had a mayoral candidate finish third in an election in Baltimore where he was within a few hundred votes of the second place finisher...he could have ran again and had an actual shot to win, and I met with him before the last election but he switched parties. His chief concern was he got zero support from the national party. That sent me down the rabbit hole. I found the only person who won a major election as a green - she was the mayor of Richmond, California. Two terms. Is now on the city council there. If you do some digging you will see that Richmond went through pretty dramatic changes in the 90s ...for the better. It was this woman's administration that did it.

I ended up talking with her. Same thing. Left the Green Party after she became mayor because they gave her zero support, but put her on their national website after she won.

So yeah, I am familiar, and I am actually working with folks now to follow what I learned from the former mayor in California.

because you have some of the people who have great intentions and ideas working hard to do....ultimately very little

and the organization doesn't turn its resources to any of the things that would actually make people want to support it in a broad way
