"Had a white lady throw the three fingers and a circle at me"
They’re so weird Was on my bike near the river. She was behind me. I pulled off around an icehouse to let her pass and she just clearly threw it up. Minutes later another white came from the other direction and she just started giving me the finger.
I ride in a tye dye kit so I wasn’t overtly Black except for being Black, white people have lost their minds. Mainly the women. Men are still lowkey racist, but they’ll nod and shit still.

also - I don't understand over racist shit like that.
it's like when a guy honks at a lady walking and shouts at her across from the passenger window...is the thought that shes going to charge at the car and fly through the open passenger window like
if someone does some blantant racist shit to a random person, whats is their expected outcome?
One, they could get seriously harmed because its just rude and risky to be spicy with randoms.
Two, do they not expect to be called out? Never once in their life did anyone ever say "Oh hold on, that's not nice, why would you call me fat?"?
Three, if nothing happens or nothing is said, do they just walk away holding their dicks like, "ha-HA, goteem. I am the shit"?
It's just a level of shit, I don't understand, because it's not just being an asshole to other people, it's living life as if no one would dare punch you, respond back, etc. It's psychotic.
8. "I waved. I don’t really have time to interact with people while riding" In response to Reply # 7 Thu May-06-21 01:29 PM by MEAT
I wave by default. It lets them know I see them and that I’m not being aggressive and it draws attention to me so I’m checking to see if they can acknowledge me or if they’re distracted.
Also, I don't really check white people like that. I don't like interacting with white people for the most part and there are so damn many of them in this world, so the value to my life of just moving on from a random one is high. White line stepping can happen from any of them at any time and like ... my time is far too valuable to me to get distracted by someone who clearly doesn't have shit better to do than to harass a stranger.
A few weeks ago I had a man honk behind me for no good reason. He was in a truck, could see well ahead, and could slow fewer than 3 seconds to continue. He didn’t see the situation like that and decided to honk. So I gave him the finger. He slowed down a bit at first like he was gonna brake and then just kept going If I had seen him at the light I’d have gave him the finger again.
Here’s the thing about cars and bikes. If you don’t hit me with your car I hope you’re carrying for your sake. Because I have a heavy lock on me, my heart rate and adrenaline are already up, and I’m good for a fight. People in cars simply aren’t in the same physical space. Catch a two piece without even warming up if you want to.

Prolly more burnout than patience, but either way. I dunno how you - or anyone in your position - experiences that and doesn't snap every time. Credit to you.

That much snow, and digging, and plowing roads, and salt, and jackets, oil purchasing, and gloves ... it's all a part of accepted life.
Meanwhile, Texas got snow that covered the state. The grid couldn't take it, over 100 people died of CO2 poisoning, hell parts of the state are still recovering months later.
If you're born into snow, snow defines you. Whether you like it or not your accept it as a truism.
I was born in racist ass Austin, in racist ass Texas, in racist ass United States and my options are to let racism kill me or live. I choose life.

Never thought of it this way. Puts it into some perspective. Thanks.
