I love the show. It's an institution.

And yeah, if my TV Land self is trapped in some SAW dungeon in NY, I want Benson, Finn & Stabler on the case- because my situation would definitely be a crossover with organized crime.

I'm not exactly a fan of cops in general, but I love the characters on this show.

which is odd since every episode is about someone getting sexually assaulted.

I like how downright BAD the acting/direction is in some of the episodes and the over the top acting

I haven't seen the newest ep(s?) with Stabler returning

True. I used to have this same sort of thought, but it dawned on me that this is also about helping the victim and getting perps off the street. There's something comforting about that.

Though, as I grow older, some of the tactics employed gve me pause

Lol yeah. There's a layer of cheese genuinely accepted as part of the charm.

Stop the presses!

Thanks for pointing that out, because everyone knows the appeal of SVU rests solely on being a 1:1 recreation of how police investigations play put in real life.

How do we let the rest of these die hard fans know this dirty secret?

I felt no connection to alot of the new characters.

Amaro and the spanish DA were just wack as fuck.

80% of my appreciation for the show was stabler and his relationship with female partners. I felt that benson was more easily replacable

I'll be all into the episode. I'm engaged with the characters, the storyline is popping. Everything is building to a high point. Then something completely ambiguous happens at the end and ......

I hate that I love watching it because these custom agents are soooo foul. There whole ass job is looking at people and guessing who might be a smuggler or breaking the law. And because its customs they aren't held to the same standards of due process that regular cops are.

So they really just like, this young black dude traveling alone looks suspicious, let me stop him. Oh he nervous talking to me? We need to do a cavity scan.

And then they are wrong 80% of the time!

And yet I watch because they got me trying to guess to whether the people they stop are smugglers.
