Like, both do the pressure cooker fried chicken, and RF beats the brakes off KFC (but really, not much won't beat KFC). But the two processes turn out quite different fried chicken, which is a different take.
All that said, I do like Pop's, but I've had way more consistent chicken at RF. Or maybe I can't admit you may be right. Carry on...

Popeyes is the best fast food fried chicken I've had in the DC area and better than most restaurant fried chicken because it's consistently good.
Nothing more disappointing than restaurant fried chicken being bland or overcooked bc that money could've bought more better chicken from Popeyes instead.

I wasn't surprised someone got shot at one over their chicken sandwich because the combo of slow, lethargic service and hungry people leads to alot of people on edge.
You wanna see some aggressive line policing, go to a Popeyes. People barely give a damn at McDonalds because someone jumping the line is only costing you like 30 seconds. At Popeyes, that's another 10 minutes. IDC if that's your cousin in front of me, the line starts somewhere behind ME.
But it's a testament to their chicken that people are willing to put up with that.

As someone who has lived in Baltimore and currently lives in New Orleans. Royal Farms is good but it is not in the same class as real Popeyes. I am sorry that people outside of Louisiana are getting substandard Popeyes. The Popeyes stores in New Orleans are great. If you don't like Popeyes at home, I would advise you to get some when you are in New Orleans and see how different it is. I don't know why it is substandard in other spots but it is great here.
I lived down the street from a Royal Farms and have eaten a lot of their chicken over the years. It is good but it is not touching real Popeyes.
i do figure a good part of why i dont like popeyes is because the ones here suck. havent tried it anywhere else. i dont know how long i need to be in new orleans to decide i want to eat popeyes instead of all the other options lol
