I recorded it...so I'll finish watching it at some point

But the first 3 acts were enough to suffer through
Harry Styles; actually can sing...but I have no idea WTF that song was about
Billie and Haim = can't sing

Meg got her grammy, congrats

But I was in for Black Pumas...after their performance...I tapped out

The show got much better in the following segment
Observations;
The WAP performance was easily the low point IMO
Cardi looked completely uncomfortable and the metallic made outfit was not sexy atall
I fell tf out at Silk Sonic
IDK why, but the carpet made me LOL
I love the commitment
Brittany Howard was easily the performance of the night
...and then they give awards in her category to people like Taylor Swift...
An inspirational song about perseverance in these trying times should have won easily over a song about a cardigan
The Billie Ellish thing with Meghan...was really uncomfortable to watch
You don’t think you deserve an award, withdraw
Going on and on about Meghan...was just...weird af

Other than that, I thought it was a good show overall
As has been pointed out, definitely a difference from live to pre-recorded performances
But it didn’t detract too much from the whole show

The academy stays f’n up with these awards though.

the Grammys. Maybe if she had a current album or tour to promote, but even with that she's at a level where she can drop a project completely unexpectedly and do huge numbers.

Even a Bruno Mars - he did a couple performances but he was there to promote Silk Sonic. He likely wouldn't have done the Grammys just to perform as a guest on someone else's song releases last year and up for an award.

But I can't say I've ever heard a record played at an award show while the performer sat front row...that was definitely weird af

Felt more like...she HAD to be there...because of the grammy record

You guys do know the performances were taped a whole ass week before the broadcast right? So literally every artist was in there watching their songs play and/or watching themselves perform.

It could simply have been a scheduling issue.

But IMO I think when it comes down to it. Jesse Collins and co wanted WAP to be the highlight of the joint performance and showcase new talent on that stage. If Beyonce would've come out in the middle of the set to do her verse and then disappear it would've taken away from it and they probably couldn't afford it either.

A Beyonce production COSTS

They are just better... BET Awards last year and Grammys proved it...

Better sets and camera blocking.

But overall it was dope... Lil Baby did THAT and Silk Sonic are just too good.

Dua killed as well.

It was like the Grammy concert last night, not Grammy Awards.

For me, the fun of the show is guessing who is going to win each category and the excitement/reaction of the winners.
Last night, there was like 1 awards for every 1 hour of performances.

Meaning she thought it was a parody. Which is what I thought it sounded like when watching it but I held my tongue to that point because she really likes Bruno Mars.

Oh well, most people seem to love it.

They sound good individually, but the alternating thing is kinda weird.

When they harmonized at the end it worked

What I liked better was Paak on the drums while Bruno sang

Just curious but what do you find weird about them alternating? Groups with multiple vocalists isn't a new thing.

This is primarily surrounding my continued dismay in the lack of quality Black, mainstream music that I can comfortably allow my kids to enjoy....

Just thinking back to when I was 8 years old.... my parents could freely listen to Black radio with us around without worrying about the content of the music being played.

I feel bad that my girls increasingly just don't/won't have that same opportunity. There's just not much contemporary Black music that we feel is worthy of their ears and minds.

I'm specifically referring to the ability to casually listen to public non-paid music programming over the radio airwaves

25. "What is the equivalent of "radio" music today though? "
In response to Reply # 20

Kids aren't listening to over the air radio these days like we did growing up. I guess the closest equivalent is Spotify or YouTube. My kids have their own Spotify accounts through my family membership, which I have set to only show the clean versions of songs, so I guess that's somewhat similar to radio which would play radio edits back in the day.

That being said, when I was growing up in the 80's with strict parents, they had just as big of a problem with some of the music I'd listen to. They didn't want me listening to Prince, they thought the Thriller video from MJ was demonic, etc.

I remember even later when I was in high school my dad found my cassette single from Tupac's Hit 'em Up, with How Do You Want It as a B side, unedited, and he freaked out on me.

The ability to simply get in the car, turn on the radio and ride out is pretty much a non-starter for parents with kids in this age bracket....

Having streaming services and all of that is all well and good....but at the same time... ANGTFT! On top of that...I drive mid-aughts VWs with stereos designed in the damn 90's....playing music sources from the phone takes WORK lol...

I don't feel like being Daddy DJ all the damn time, fckin up my algorithms trying to find kid friendly versions of songs that aren't really THAT kid friendly...they're just explicit song with a bunch of blank spots .... shit's terrible.

medium of music, vs the actual music itself. I don't know what the radio market is like in your area. But the station here that played hip-hop and R&B when I was in high school has kinda grown up with the demographic. I don't know if there's a comparable hip-hop and R&B station for the kids, but the demand isn't likely there.

It would have been a different world for us as kids if we had devices in our pockets that could stream an infinite amount of music with little to no filters on it.

Totally feel you on the algorithms. That's why I set my kids up with their own Spotify accounts. When we're in the car we're using Apple CarPlay from my phone where they have their own accounts and playlists set up separate from mine.

There's always been an OPTION to play your preferred music vs. listen to something that's being presented on the open airwaves....

I've seen some pretty intense blues 8-tracks in my grand daddy's collection back in the day....he kept them joints tucked away too....

Public/commercial radio, tv have generally always been understood as a "safer" space for media consumption. Like...of course you know it's not gonna be KIDS centric music playing on no radio stations...but you also had a certain degree of confidence that playing the radio stations was going to be the safest bet for listening to music with kids in the car.

I was like, even with this edit there's no way kids don't know what this is about...but they MIGHT miss how toxic this relationship is because these are their idols.

Catchy song, very on brand performances...but isn't that an album cut in the '90s? Or just written a little less...directly?

But then, I don't have kids and haven't consciously heard a radio station outside of an Uber ride in half a decade at this point so I stopped caring. Plus I personally wouldn't have been messed up by that song, I guess, so do I really care?

In response to Reply # 31

I asked all of the girls in my network ages 6-10 who they admire musically. Most said Beyonce, my kid likes Katy Perry, the other black girls don't have anyone musically to look up to.

When I was 8 years old, I would have said Whitney Houston, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Lisa Lisa and maybe MC Lyte.

I just think today everything marketed to girls is hyper sexual. Which is why Kidz Bop is a thing. Every song has a drug or sexual reference. In terms of girls, the sexual reference is usually being sold by a brown skinned woman (Mixed, other, black or latino are all the same to me).

White children have SOOOOO many more music idols and options that frame their childhood outside of selling sex.

Siiii yiiiiide! Bwahahahaha! I’m not gonna be over this for weeks. Too funny.

And yeah, it somewhat obviously different. More cussing. Less sneaky throwed off stuff getting said in a way where a kid should be able to understand what is going on. And just more crazy stuff getting said on a per song basis.

The 90s had plenty of licking up and downs, grunting, and more clear threats of sexual stuff too so this has been on its way to happening for a while.

I was like 18 before I heard Love Serenade past ‘TAKE IT OFF’ on a regular basis.

Because the kids should hear it from time to time.

And I am really not moved by the "but it was just as bad when we were kids" argument because that may be the case, but then we always had old people who pushed back. I am not talking about Tipper Gore or The Right Wing and Preachers, but rather our parents or other grown-up we respected.

I feel like black people get played by white liberals at time because white liberals will be out there promoting a certain type of oversexualized or thuggish type of young black entertainers but would never want it for their own kids.

I think a lot about how social media has blurred the lines between what we say publically to everyone and what we say at home to family, friends and children.

The police shutting down Two Live Crew and NWA for indecency is ridiculous, even though my parents were right to not let me have that music playing in their house.

To that end, I think a lot of the ado about WAP is signs of end times is over the top and ignores what we grew up listening too, but yeah WAP doesn't need to be performed at the Superbowl or Grammy's because these are family broadcasts.

Personally, I think worst than being the old head complaining about WAP is being some old head trying to prove how hip I am by gushing over social media about a song clearly made for young (but not too young) people.

didn’t NPR say it was song of 2020?

its like Denzel with Training Day

its like Halle with Monsters Ball.

They tend to choose our worst representations to celebrate us in their spaces.

To this day I think its sad fuck that this was the song some of our own people chose to champion as Black women’s empowerment.

When I see old ass people trying to use WAP as a teachable moment.. c’mon on yo. Sit yo old ass down and put on some Tribe and stfu.

been equally concerned about all the X-rated shit male rappers have been spewing bout women's and girls' bodies, genitals, and sex for decades.

Bc there's literally no basis to single out Meg + Cardi. I'll listen all day to a genuine argument about hypersexualization in rap or the music indistry in general etc, but how can it be cool for men to rap explicitly about women and girls but not women to rap explicitly about *our own* bodies/desires/POV??? Furthermore, to be taken aback by what Meg + Cardi say makes zero sense unless you've (mistakenly) believed women are little more than passive cum receptacles lacking nerve endings, sentient thought, and self-interest.

I'm actually neutral on the song itself; I don't even think I've listened to it all the way thru (bc that's how inconsequentially I view it, if we're really gonna try being serious about sex-positivity). But what really gets me is the but-my-daughters defense. You guys, that is basically a meaningless point bc all the twerking video vixens and women and girls whose pussies male rappers have been talking about for decades were somebody's daughters too. As are Meg + Cardi. ALL WOMEN ARE SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER.

So if you're uneasy with explicit sexual expression, you're entitled to your opinion but just make sure you're being consistent - about male artists and female artists, past and present present projects, label-driven and independent, etc. Bc some of the same ppl calling Meg + Cardi's dancing porn and complaining about stripper this and that have prob *shrugged* at women and girls doing *THE EXACT SAME THINGS* in a male rapper's video/performance. Yall should examine why that is.

it was floated as a valid reason for the song to have been provided such a mainstream platform. I call bullshit, because I don't see a single thing that's empowering in a way that it should be promoted and provided such a mainstream platform. Simple as that.
I guess it depends on what one's asperations are...if they're limited to sexual prowess and domination and providing pleasure.... then sure...it's
empowering....

"some of the same ppl calling Meg + Cardi's dancing porn and complaining about stripper this and that have prob *shrugged* at women and girls doing *THE EXACT SAME THINGS* in a male rapper's video/performance. Yall should examine why that is."

Because WAP is hardly *hardly* the first sexually explicit rap song to gain mainstream success lol. One could argue that WAP is simply a product of the X-rated landscape - defined as MALE "sexual prowess and domination" and "pleasure" - that misogynist rap has wrought. So, like I said, I'll listen to an argument about the past and current rap/industry landscape in general, but yall lose me trying to single out Meg + Cardi.

>it was floated as a valid reason for the song to have been
>provided such a mainstream platform. I call bullshit, because
>I don't see a single thing that's empowering in a way that it
>should be promoted and provided such a mainstream platform.
>Simple as that.
>I guess it depends on what one's asperations are...if they're
>limited to sexual prowess and domination and providing
>pleasure.... then sure...it's
>empowering....

the topic. the topic is the prominence of explicit material on mainstream platforms.

We're not arguing whether or not is cool.
There's also NEVER been an argument that men rapping about that stuff is empowering to men....it's always been stated and accepted that's it's explicit subject matter meant for adults.

I think it's valid to examine yes...but at the same time...that very thing is exactly what's ALWAYS pushed the genre of Hip Hop so far down on the mainstream scale of "importance"....so it's never been a matter of males being praised for explicit subject matter, it's always been the complete opposite in fact....

Anytime ANY explicit song makes it into the mainstream it's an issue.

And personally I think it's a MAJOR issue that the sexually explicit songs from female rappers seem to be the only tracks that are pushed and promoted to the mainstream vs. their non-sexual (aka BARS LADDEN) tracks... why is that??? And this is exactly what this post is about.

Meg got bars for DAYS
Nicki got bars for DAYS
Cardi got...bars....

of all them bars...don't you find it suspect that the sexually explicit bars are the only ones that percolate to the top and make it mainstream????

Cardi's first #1 song was "Bodak Yellow" a rags to riches rap song with literally no hook. It isn't based solely on "sexually explicit bars"

Megan first #1 "Savage" is also an ALL RAP song and while it does contain some sexually suggestive lyrics it is certainly more empowering than those 1 or 2 bars.

If fact.. Women have probably been having more success at creating all rap number 1's lately than their male counterparts who have to add a singer or singing to make it palatable.

hasn't been cool/celebrated. It's literally been the status quo, so the support is implied... especially within the hip hop community (of which I would say the okp demographic kind of leans). I'm obv not talking about the fox/conservative audience, who's hated rap all along whether sexually explicit or not lol (and hates WAP accordingly).

Additionally, misogynist and/or sexually explicit rap by male rappers never needed to be framed as "empowering to men", bc that's just been the power imbalance by default. Furthermore, this power imbalance hasn't stayed relegated to the music, it's spilled over into real life (eg. the recent Jaguar claims come to mind but those have hardly been the first or only, whether we're talking sex, business, representation, etc).

I just think one has to be willing to *acknowledge* the power imbalance between men and women that's existed in rap culture since its emergence, to get how some women (again not all, and not necessarily me) see WAP as empowering bc it's women centering their own desires and self-interest for once. It's not too hard to wrap our heads around if we contextualize WAP properly.

Who, between the two of us, expressed *confusion* about how the song could possibly viewed as empowering?

Who, between the two of us, is actually a Black woman and has been a young Black daughter and is talking about the song and backlash from that perspective?

Why is it flawed and biased, bc I'm calling on yall to examine why you have all the smoke for *this* particular song and *these* particular young female artists, in the broader context of sexually explicit rap which has been a thing for how long? lol

itself....
I never said I had issue with the song.
I clearly stated I had issue with:
1) the song being promoted so heavily on mainstream platforms, during what is historically "family" programming.
2) the song being promoted as female empowerment.

I then went on to clarify in previous post above the metric that it may technically be considered empowering...and if that is the sole metric of empowerment...then yes, I guess it is empowering....

By any OTHER, widely accepted and defined metric of empowerment, it doesn't fit.

That's what I consider to be flawed about your interpretation of my post. The bias I'm referring to is that you're a Black female that sees me as a misogynistic Black male from jump without bothering to actually process and approach the things I wrote from a non-biased angle.

re: your point about whether or not WAP fits your metric of empowerment:

"it isn't for you to figure out. you're not a woman. YOU don't need to understand it for it to be empowering..that's centering yourself in the experience of women."

And, again, tying this back to the point I was trying to make about the overwhelmingly male-centered and misogynist status quo in rap culture... it just seems like it's the *contrast* between that status quo and Meg + Cardi unapologetically articulating their arousal, desires, and self-interest, that some women and girls find empowering. I mean, consider for one second how saturated rap is with past and current songs basically reducing us to insentient objects to be ejaculated on/in and discarded. I'm not saying WAP is my anthem or needs to be anybody's anthem, but I can see how folks end up there.

Other thing is, you should realize that just bc I'm a Black woman and challenging your opinion, doesn't mean I see you "as a misogynistic Black male from jump without bothering to actually process and approach the things I wrote from a non-biased angle." That's a little hit-doggy. Maybe check your fragility lol. Bc by your own admission, you said you don't understand why this song appeals to so many women and girls and how it could or even should be considered empowering. I'm just trying to help you out.

between a Black father and his Black daughters that is so often attempted to be severed by literally EVERYBODY in society.

As a parent, I have a very real impact and responsibility to make sure the things they experience and are exposed to is consistent with values and mindsets that will allow them to prosper and flourish.

I need to understand if/why/how something that is being pushed as empowering is actually empowering if I'm going to allow my kids to be exposed to it. So from that angle alone, it's a very valid request for me or any other Black parent to make to those that are steady screaming "OH THAT SONG IS ABOUT FEMALE EMPOWERMENT!!" ...so, as a Black man, with two Black daughters, married to a Black woman; yes, I'm firmly centered in the experience of women...

The status-quo of rap culture isn't a metric that should be used to determine what's empowering. Two wrongs don't make it right.

I'm not fragile, I'm not hit dogging either. I very clearly made the statement, and have yet to receive a concise reason for what exactly it is about this song that makes it empowering and worthy of being presented in mainstream, family oriented prime time programming. You're not really trying to "help me out".... you're trying to frame my very clear statements as something that they simply aren't.

My issue isn't with the song.
My issue isn't with the artists.
My issue isn't with subject matter.
My issue isn't with hip-hop culture.

of dismissing the connection btwn Black fathers and daughters; I said ALL WOMEN are someone's daughter.

Which I said in part bc often, especially in patriarchal dynamics, men need to affiliate women and girls with some kind of male-adjacent role (eg. wifey, mother, daughter) to see us as worth protecting or having some kind of value talk more of listening to or understanding. So when you all were like but-my-daughters, I thought I should point out that the very women many think are doing too much, Meg + Cardi, are also daughters; as have been all the women twerking in your fave male rappers' music videos or the pornhub clips yall beat it to.

Obv *your* priority is going to be *your own* daughters, but I don't think yall will be able to compute why *some women* view WAP as empowering unless you're contemplating it from a place where *ALL women* are humanized - INCL STRIPPERS AND PORNSTARS. Do you see where I'm coming from now? I'm not a scholar on this stuff at all, and I wish I could talk about it with the sophistication that afrogirl-lost and damali often do. But please believe I genuinely was just trying to help you see things from a (hypothetical) pro-WAP woman's perspective lol (and my personal position on WAP is actually irrelevant to being able to do so).

I mean, we can totally end the back and forth lol, it's all good. So far you've said your issue isn't with WAP's lyrical content, or with Meg + Cardi, or with sexually explicit subject matter in rap in general, or with rap culture... Are you just mad to be mad?? Lol. Like I said elsewhere, if you refuse to see how the song could be considered empowering, you're entitled to your opinion... All I asked is those of you who think that KTSE for all the rappers with similarly explicit content, whether male or female. OTOH, if you believe in good faith that there must be something about the song you're missing for so many women to view it as empowering, I just don't see how you resolve that without taking into account the song's lyrical content and context wrt rap music in general *shrug* Whatever tho

I don't see anyone in this post giving Meg & Cardi flack....
I got no issue with either of them outside of the usual some people are better rappers than others...I prefer Meg over Cardi *shrugs*...but besides that.... I haven't given any of them flack for their art. Point out where I did....

I'M giving flack to the industry and platforms that are very clearly ONLY promoting certain aspects of Black music because it's fits into the narrative and box that they want to keep Black people and Black women in.
As a Black father with a BLack wife and two Black daughters....THAT'S worthy of my outrage.

And again, the crux of what I was trying to say is for those set on the notion that *no song* that sexually explicit should be celebrated/mainstream/considered empowering, KTSE for the male rappers that do and have been doing the same shit lol. That's all

Fair enough that your critiques have mostly focused on the song's explicitness and accessibility tho

I think the song sucks, Meghan spitting tho..

but back when Nelly and Snoop had strippers on stage I wasn’t on some “its just art, let them express themselves, stop slut-shaming”

I knew exactly why women were upset and rightfully so with Tip Drill.

I have no problem with this song being on an album but I do have an issue with this song being celebrated as Black women empowerment. Of all the images? This is the one that you want for our Black daughters and Black women? Really?

Put it this way... when Candace Owens talking points (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOytWiv25dQ) make their way onto okp (which has been happening more and more lately lol)... I think we need to regroup lol. As a Black-identifying White supremacist we know she despises Black women nearly as much as she despises Black men... so I get scared when folks here agree with her. On anything lol.

Re: the empowerment issue specifically, Damali really did say it best. You guys aren't really in a position to control or judge what some women feel is empowering; it's a personal determination. In fact even I, as a woman, shouldn't really take away from what another woman finds empowering. Everyone has different stories and personal challenges/vulnerabilities to overcome.

I really do think it's critical to acknowledge how male-dominant and misogynist rap has a history of being, and still is, to understand the whole empowerment thing tho.

I mean it aint like people can really go to strip joints or the club right now. It's not pleasant to listen to, it's obnoxious. I mean I don't hate it but it's a song where I hear it and I'm left wondering "ok who is this for? Who likes this?"

Agreed and I feel this way about a lot of the trap stuff with repeating a single word 10-20 times.

The song is bad.

The video *IS* very strip club/porn.

The "performance" seemed, to me, and old old old man, to be 2 ladies attempting to show positions from the Kama Sutra but being hindered by their shoes weighing too much.

It's what Madonna did in the 80s times 5.

People have very bad taste in music AND like porn.

But I'll take that over going back in time to the 50s.

but now its WET ASS PUSSY!!! said 20 times on a track.

No, my kids will not be listening to pop music like this at 9 with my approval. They beter sneak and listen like we did.

My dad banned me from listening to radio station because of the moaning and groaning from Break for Love

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ku6ULld2cBo

WAP and, not to just come at the women, this on the radio now days in a "love song":

Shorty a lil' baddie (she a lil' baddie)
Shorty my lil' boo thing (boo thing)
And shorty got the fatty
Shorty be catching mood swings
Every time I fuck without a rubber
I nutted on the covers
And I kept it undercover
'Cause I don't kiss and tell (kiss and tell)

Now I actually think music, in general, was actually a lot more raunchier back in the day given 2 Live Crew, NWA, etc., but I do think what is played on the radio has changed drastically.

How does this work. Is it that Da Baby's verse is misogynistic objectification but the City Girls verse girl empowerment or is it all empowerment because City Girls on the track?

Again, we had sh*t like this back in the day but it wasn't on the radio.

concerning than WAP.

So basically from very the beginning of the video:

- this young girl's in a toxic relationship with this guy (who basically reduces the relationship to buying her things in exchange for having unprotected sex and ejaculating on her until he decides he wants to get her pregnant)

- the young girl is distraught, unhappy, and clearly recognizes that fucking with this dude is unhealthy, but she's not strong enough to leave him alone (despite her friend trying to help her see how toxic they are)

-Lil Tjay at the end talking about she's a virgin and the sex is hurting her (IMAGINE THE AGE RANGE OF GIRLS THEY MUST BE TALKING ABOUT FOR THAT TO BE A LYRIC)

I think this kind of messaging is more concerning for young girls than WAP or twerking bc it's not just sexually explicit, it glamorizes a psychologically abusive relationship cycle and *specifically* targets very young girls (who else could relate to being a virgin and painful first-time sex?) and the dudes that prey on them. All under the guise of some ambient sing-songy rap. Smh.

Here's the video and (full) lyrics:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM8ostx0Ub8

https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/lyrics/9460741/pop-smoke-mood-swings-lyrics-lil-tjay/

(Mood swings)
Oh, you ain't know I could sing? (Oh, oh, oh)
Hahaha (yeah)

Shorty a lil' baddie (she a lil' baddie)
Shorty my lil' boo thing (boo thing)
And shorty got the fatty
Shorty be catching mood swings
Every time I f--- without a rubber
I nutted on the covers
And I kept it undercover
'Cause I don't kiss and tell (kiss and tell)

Every time I f---, she call me daddy
My lil' mama nasty
I see the p---y through the panties (whatever you want)
She taste like candy
She a queen, like Nefertiti
Uh-oh, my lil' mama sittin' pretty
And we be shoppin' through the city (oh, oh)
I gave her keys to the Bentley (whoa, whoa)
Get off your knees, you don't gotta cry to me
I'm your best friend, baby, you don't gotta lie
I'll get you everything that you want and you need from Chanel to Celine
It's on you to decide
Valentino, yeah, I put you in the best
Start liftin' up your dress, start kissin' on your neck (oh no, no)
Start rubbin' on your butt, start massagin' your breasts
I ain't wanna give you a baby just yet, so I backed out and nutted on your breasts
I put you in an Uber (Uber) and sent you to your bed (oh)
The very next day (oh), you sent me a text (oh)
You pulled up to the crib and we did it again (oh, oh)

Shorty a lil' baddie (she a lil' baddie)
Shorty my lil' boo thing (boo thing)
And shorty got the fatty
Shorty be catching mood swings
Every time I f--- without a rubber
I nutted on the covers
And I kept it undercover
'Cause I don't kiss and tell (ooh)

You know, I never found love until I looked into your eyes (into your eyes)
First time blushin', I ain't even gon' lie (ain't even gon' lie)
Four rounds in, leavin' bruises on your thighs
You the only bi--- could make me spin off on the guys
And the only bi--- that make me wanna nut when I'm inside
It's your vibe, leave with me you gettin' high
None of these bi---es f---in' with you even if they tried
P---y on tsunami, I ain't never felt it dry
Close my eyes 'fore I sleep, hope you be there when I wake
Honestly, I feel the vibe we have is great
And if there's something in your mind, you can tell me
And if I told you what's on mine, would you help me?
You gon' see the bigger picture, it's just gon' take time
Just because you mine
I'ma keep you lookin' like a dime
Ain't no imperfections, girl, you fine
Baby, what's your sign?
hope you ain't against the slow grind
(Work, work, it's me and you) me and you
Keep it silent, there ain't nothin' we can't do
Through the storm, baby, we can make it through
Why you actin' brand new? You know you my lil' boo thing
Got up on my Birkin, it's workin'
She said she a virgin (it's hurtin')
She my biggest fan, she always lurkin'
She know I'm a man, I'ma put that work in
I know she can't stand me, I'm fancy
So I'ma bring her out when I get my Grammy
Late night sex, she can't find her panties
Couldn't hold it in, now she need a Plan B

(Shorty a lil' baddie)
(She my lil' boo thing)
And shorty got the fatty (shorty got the fatty)
Shorty be catching mood swings
(Every time I f--- without a rubber)
(I nutted on her covers)
And I kept it undercover
'Cause I don't kiss and tell

I mean I wouldn't call it empowering and I wouldn't want this life for my kids, but I do love the middle fingers to the world of this joint:
