"Questlove Supreme / I know we had that Flyte Tyme post already..."
But damnit this Jimmy Jam interview is the illest and most entertaining podcast episode I've ever heard
Prince stories, The Time stories, Morris Day, industry stories, so many awesome anecdotes on their production process... They never sequenced shit so the synthbass on Just Be Good To Me is played live all 8 minutes through?? Didnt mean to turn you on - live synths all the way through? He mentions rehearsing with Prince is what made their timing so impeccable....
Thank you OKP whoever u were for putting me on
I've never gotten into podcasts, tho I've tried, I prefer listening to music.. I get bored with hearing other people talk, almost no matter how interesting the topic. But Jimmy Jam is talking that talk, sheesh. I'm probably gonna listen to the whole thing over again once I'm done. All 6 hours or whatever. Incredible
SALUTE Quest for this
PS: when FKA Twigs drops her Main Squeeze podcast, I'll check for that too..

Spotify most of the time since that’s where I listen to most of my podcasts these days, but there are older episodes not on Spotify that are on Pandora.

a buncha music b/c jam and lewis was on joints before i was even checking for them. and then it was like, *lightbulb*, no wonder that shit banged like it did.
but the stories. i wasn't a podcast person before that, but the QLSes always held my attention. so much jewels.
a lot of times the dopest ones would be ones you weren't even checking for, like kwame.

Jimmy Jam sounds cool AF and obviously it seems like he's had a great life
I made a Spotify playlist just for the songs they namedropped along the way, they just kept naming bomb stuff I'd either forgotten or never heard
Still can't believe they played those synths live, imagine keepin that Just Be Good To Me bassline in the pocket like that for all those minutes without fail. These guys were (are) coooooold
