It is for everyone who would spend time taking it in. Me? I don’t like it. It takes us further away from people being willing and capable of building their own opinions about something. And that’s the gateway to the constant steam of manipulation that I see so heavy in American political content. In that world, it seems like folks constantly tell you that there’s only 2 options of how to view things and any other stance is half-baked and not worth having.
And I think it puts us further in the direction of the forever unimpressed/never satisfied folks that can and do annoy and confuse me regularly in my online travels. And I see it in my kid, 20-something coworkers, and my homeboys who spent a bunch of time on social media and video comment threads.

the zias and b.lou reaction videos to all kinds of rap videos were usually entertaining because zias would catch all the good lines and explain and contextualize them for the audience/b.lou while b.lou would just be a stoned doofus missing everything or pointing out wack lines as if they were good
these kinds of videos are also useful for validating your opinion. specifically i remember seeing sahbabii's "ready to eat" video and being blown away by it but not seeing any chatter about it online. i eventually found a reaction video where one guy had the same reaction as me when i first heard the song and i felt better 😁

Can't remember his account name. It's kind of a bummer that his main fanbase appears to be a very specific brand of white dude that never stopped listening to prog metal from the '90s and '00s, but as somebody who doesn't really listen to TOOL or Mars Volta anymore it's fun to see a guy in his 60s be a total nerd about stuff I mostly left in my teens. Plus it's genuinely interesting to me to see the perspective of someone who's had an entire career in the music industry yet has no idea who "Red Hot Chili Peppers" are other than maybe seeing a billboard driving through Sacramento one time LOL.

Like when some kind of voice or instrument teacher/expert reacts to and analyzes an artist's performance.
I don't look for them or anything but if the algorithm brings one to my attention I'll go down a rabbit hole for a bit.
It basically boils down to the fact that I (or in the case of a really popular song, people) already enjoy the music, and hearing experts break down *why* or *how* something is so well done is quite satisfying to me.
I have a little bit of theory and technique understanding from music instruction when I was younger, but that obv can only help but so much.
They account for a pretty small segment of the reaction video genre tho, from what I can tell lol
i think at most i have seen some pop up that are like "jazz expert reacts to baby got back" or something like that which is to click bait-y even for me lol
i have watched some that break down rappers patterns/flows
