"Someone in the neighborhood is letting their dog shit near my house"

Not just my yard. But all the way in the bushes upside the house. I saw a turd the other day and was grossed out
But now that I'm out there looking there are multiple turds and dig holes. Meaning it's been going on for a while.

All of the websites talk about humane repellents for dogs.
Are there any inhumane ones? Because I'm not about to be spraying my plants with ammonia every few weeks just to take care of someone elses pet.

Someone just lets their dog shit while walking in the middle of the sidewalk and doesn’t clean it up. People are wild.

If there are dig holes in your yard it would suggest that whatever is doing the pooping is spending some hanging out. And since it’s right up close to your house I’m guessing it’s not a leashed dog. I would guess it’s some other creature like a cat or wild animal as people don’t really let dogs roam free like that.

Are not small at all.
Meanwhile. People in gated communities are wild and do let their dogs roam. Particularly the ones that lives next door to us
We live on the outskirts outskirts of a city. For our neighborhood to our north across the street is a rock quarry, to our right facing north is the rest of the rock quarry, to the west is a fire station being built and then about 200m is a gas station and then to our south is a Greenbelt.
It’s about a rural as you can get on this part of town while still being in city limits.

I was tossing shit back in their yard for the first month and chasing her off pre shit until she got the message. I was really glad when that dog died.

Monday March 8th, my wife gets home with the kids. Same routine every day, I go get the carseat baby, she brings the other kid in. During this time the neighbor across the streets comes over and asks if I've seen his cat. I tell him I'll meet him at his house real quick. I put the kids in the house. Told him what happened and then drove him to the spot where I had dropped the cat off and we looked around for this cat for HOURS. No luck.

As we talked he told me that his cats favorite bush was mine and another neighbor. That it was a house cat, that got out on occasions to him, and it always came back in the house later when he rattled the food can. But from the MANY cat turds in bushes, this cat had made a full home at my house. That pulls the many times it had run into the garage, the many nights it was under my car at night, or in the morning ... this was not a housed cat. Plus at no point during the last 5 months has anyone claimed ownership or told me about ownership of the cats there are 4-5 ones loose in the neighborhood. But that was besides the point, I was there to help that man look. And I helped him for days. I put up a Facebook post, another online search, went out a few days with the trap to find it, and just nothing. Until Thursday. of last week. When his apparent roommate/lawyer came over to interrogate me.

At first he started asking questions like he was needing information to look for the cat. But at some point he goes "so you said that you're allergic to cats, well how did you transport it" ... to which I answered, "I put a tarp over it not to scare it, put it in the back of the suv, opened all the windows, turned my air off, wore a mask, and still ended up with asthma attacks" ... So I asked him, are you coming over here to help or are you coming over to investigate me. To which he said "well if we find the cat, then it's not a problem, but if it is we want to keep our legal options open". So I told him he's not welcome over here. That I was helping, but if he's saying this is now a legal situation he can call my lawyer. Then I made him look at all of the evidence to me that this was a stray cat, the turds, the holes, the digging. Then I showed him all of orange peels, and chemicals, and coffee grounds that I been putting out for months. I said at no point has anyone ever talked to me about this cat and had I known I'd have just come across the street and knocked on the door. And that's where it stood. Thursday.

At least I thought. Friday my wife starts sending me facebook screenshots. People online are making threats against our family and she's worried. According to my neighbor I had lied to him based on talking with my next door neighbor. That all of the things I told him was an elaborate cover story. That the only reason he knew about his cat missing was because my neighbor told him that he saw me with cages even though I don't have animals. And that he (next door) and his wife had told me whose cats those are. That I'm crazy, he's now scared for his dog and that I'm crazy about music. So armed with the idea that I'm a pet kidnapper and a crazy neighbor. Dude added some more to his story. Said that he heard his cat crying from my garage and that's how he knew I had it.

So Friday I see dude and his family talking to missing cat neighbor across the street. And you can see from body language that they're just hyping each other up. Meanwhile dude has texted me "hey bud any luck" and I'm like ... nah I'm not getting involved with any of yall and kept my peace. But my wife was worried. Fast forward to Saturday night, I put my kid to bed and see next door neighbor talking to across the street neighbor. So I go outside. And ask him

"Aye, you told that man we had talked about his cat, when did we have that conversation"
And when I tell you this white man lost it from being confronted ... sheesh.
So he starts running his mouth and I'm like "yeah fuck all that, just tell that man when we talked about that cat, because he thinks I'm lying to him" And he just would not answer the question. And so now that he's caught in a lie he's getting mad mad. And he's standing on my yard.
"You left a cat to die", "You stole this mans cat", "why do you have a cage" and he's getting loud loud.
But then he put some bass in his voice and he tells "go get that cage right now" in a tone that I expected the next word to be "boy"
But when I tell you dude is all hat and no cattle, believe me. Because he got "fuck you run up then", "you talking that shit, run that shit", and a whole bunch of muthafuckas all the way back to his garage.
At which point my wife comes out, and she starts crying that he's a liar, that we didn't know, and I send her back in the house.

So now I'm sitting in front of my house watching out, because I just embarrassed a white man in public and I'm pretty sure he had been drinking too. So I'm just watching out for him. Called my dad, told him to come through. And while I'm waiting dude leaves his house and goes across the street to the other guys house. To which they both come back apologetic. Dude said he had never told him that I'd been helping him this whole time and that he thought less of me. I told it's still beef. That you can't be lying about folks to that degree.
Him: I mean, I try to be friendly to everyone and I hope that one day
Me: we'll see, but it won't be today or tomorrow

Fucking drama. Dumb ass drama.

He's a friendly enough white guy. Really liked in the neighborhood by a few people. Mainly ones that aren't from Texas. Like I've spoken to some folks that just got a bead on people like that, and they've asked ... "is he cool?" and I've always said ... "I mean he's cool enough, but he's definitely not cool to live next to"

And right now they're at the end of the neighborhood, eventually he'll have a house across the street, and another person next door to him. Right now they get to do their bullshit while only affecting me.

>That lawyer shit though....smh...I really have a strong
>disdain for lawyers... The fck they gonna do anyway???
>You a good one for even going to try and help dude find the
>cat...kudos to you for that.

There seems to be some thought that I stole a pet, and that in Texas a pet is property. But it was a cat that had made a home at my house, that I documented for months, that had no tag, no collar, and nobody once came to claim it. So ... he'll end up paying my legal fees if he wants to go that route. But it's his choice.

And like I told him a few times. I put in a lot of work to keep that cat away. If at any point I had known I could've just knocked on his door, I would've.

And honestly. I felt bad for dude. You don't do that to people's pets. He looked legit hurt. I would've been too. But at the same time, if you care about something THAT much, you do everything you can to make it safe. And leaving it to the situation that I described without once saying something is just irresponsible.

I haven't heard it since he started running around talking about he's scared of me.
Funny how that works.
I even told my family last week "Wouldn’t it be darkly hilarious if this incident is what causes my neighbor to turn down his music because he becomes scared of what he worries I’m capable of" ... that was before I had confronted him.

You have to understand, I couldn't go outside of my house at night.
I'm allergic to cats to the degree that cats close my throat and I end up in the hospital.

I thought a dog was shitting in my bushes. It was gross, I put up a sign and some pepper. And posted here. My wife went and looked after I posted and said it's probably cats.

5 months ago cats appeared in the neighborhood
4 months ago the cats started sleeping under my car
3 months ago the cats kept coming into my garage to try to make a home
2 months ago I put down a bunch of preventative cat stuff to keep cats away from yards, while also closing my garage all the time
1 month I start getting severe asthma attacks from being outside
The volume of turds at the front of the house told me that the cats that I had been trying to keep from making a home at my house (I never fed them, never let them in) had in fact made a home and I was in an urgent situation.

I was confused because we went from "i think there's a dog shitting in my yard," to trapping a cat days later, to learning that you had been surveilling and documenting said cat for months.

I'm allergic to cats too. I used to be pretty bad when I was younger... eyes swelling shut, throat closing up. But it doesn't sounds nearly as bad as yours. Mine isn't as severe these days but I do have empathy/sympathy for the phyiscal reactions.

and that you were going to find it when you returned with its owner. if you have been having such issues with the cat for months, why did you still think it was a dog going in your bushes two weeks ago?

For all intents and purposes I was done with that cat.

>if you have been having such issues with the cat for months, why did you still think it was a dog going in your bushes two weeks ago?

I haven't been out front in months. Wasn't up to date with what was going on.
I still contend that there's a large dog shit out there among the bushes. My neighbor is big mad about my sign according to his yelling the other night. "People think it's MY DOG, the dog only gets out a few times, what's a little shit" ... is what he told me

And that dog has shit in my yard before, multiple times.

So my neighbor, who often just lets his dog out would be the only person that I would suspect of letting his dog just shit in my bushes and dig holes. Anyone else I would see because they'd be walking their pet, but he could just let his dog out and I'd never see it because they're always out at odd hours.

All to add one more thing ... I've never been around cats. I didn't know what cat shit looked like until this week. Still looks like small dog shit to me.

How'd you manage to capture and transport the lil mug to the mall given this level of allergies?

I had planned on dropping it off at the highschool, but when I pulled up there were all of these folks there.

I don't even dislike cats. I don't want it in bushes of course, but the bigger deal was allergies and I can't be around cats. But I'm weird when it comes to life. The only things I kill are roaches, ants, mosquitos, and wasps.

Dude came by last year asking to spray for spiders and I told him no, that they take care of other bugs.

The city's policy is that outdoor cats keep rodent populations down.
And that may make sense inside of the city, but on the outskirts of the city we have far too many predators to have a rodent problem

When I called what they offered me was to spay or neuter the cat and give it back to me. Seeing as how that's not an option for me, I took it to the mall.

Malls and grocery stores don't hunt down cats. They take care of them on the sly because it helps keep rodents away.

LMAO

also, call the local animal shelter or animal catcher services

if you're that deathly afraid of cats, handling an animal in any way would definitely make me want to play the long game instead of this messy drama

btw can I buy this story for an SVU-Petty script?

Last week I saw the same cat, but I happened to be able to snap a picture. I texted dude. He said it was another neighbors cat, that that cat has a collar, but that he got his back.
