"need some a/v help with recording videos for my sons youtube channel"
I posted this in High Tech but forgot nobody goes there or here much. So might as well post this to the place with the most traffic.
Recording video with my Iphone 11. We just recorded the first video and sound is decent but it would be better with a mic. So I can control the levels. I have a microphone and this mixer https://www.alesis.com/products/view/multimix-4-usb-fx But i dont have a way to hook up iphone to the mixer to get the sound. So im looking for cheap solutions. Should I get an external webcam and record through my laptop and ditch the iphone all together? All the content will be shot inside. So having a set up that bulky i guess is no issue.

lots of white noise, sounds like interference. Couldnt get rid of it. So just opted to record the first episode sans mic. Recorded with regular camera app this time. Ill look at the app. Gotta figure out whats causing the interference. Was kind of hard to figure out when i had to record then stop and listen. Then adjust record, stop, listen. But first one is in the can. Now we gotta edit. I used to think my 11 year old MBP was running great until i started editing videos longer than 5 minutes.
now that mic you linked me just goes directly into the adapter. So i can cut out the mixer completely. I like that.

Is the noise in the mixer as well? Like if you just listen to it in headphones?
