"Poll question: Join Biden when it's easy he'll win (trump is so bad) but .. leave "
Tue Jan-05-21 11:07 PM by c71

leave Biden when it's hard (a less-polarizing GOP candidate steps up)

Before you TOKPR - I can link the replies that said how much tougher 2024 will be (seemingly implying they won't be along for that time)

Poll result (1 votes)
shows that folks just voted for Biden in 2020 to not be "left out" of the win (0 votes)Vote
folks really wanted Biden to lose in 2020 and hope he loses in 2024 (0 votes)Vote
uh...both? (1 votes)Vote

Biden definitely got the most votes

but it wasn’t because Biden spoke to the people and won our hearts over.

Whoever won the Dem nom was getting a shit ton of votes because Trump was the worst President in our lifetime

we partying on okp but only 2 or 3 people were actually excited to vote for Biden when the first poll was released on here. Tulsi had more support on here than Joe.

But to use the term "historically bad" is absolutely laughable. In my opinion Clinton was a much worse candidate and i wouldnt even call her historically bad. Biden been in the game for a minute, was Obamas VP, and came out of retirement specifically to take down Trump. He is literally one of the most successful victors in American history. Transformative, no. He's an old white man. I cant imagine anyone asking "hey, who holds the record for the most votes in American history?" and the answer including any form of the term "historically bad."

People underestimate Biden's ability to draw Republicans into voting for him, which flipped almost every battleground state from Trump to Biden.

While I wouldn’t call him “historically bad” I don’t think he was anything special.

Definitely thought he was the perfect candidate for old racist white people in rural areas.

It’s undeniable that he benefitted from opposing a guy as unfathomably toxic as Trump.

From the primary, where Biden won based off of name recognition and experience, all the way to the general, where he ran a generic campaign built on platitudes and not a lot of policy...he won because people wanted a return to normal. He’s been a politician for 50 years, he didn’t rouse excitement. He was victorious because he WASN’T tantalizing or polarizing in any way. In a typical election cycle, someone that uninspiring would’ve been rooted out with a swiftness.

Speaking from my own experience, he got my family’s vote because he wasn’t Trump, that’s it. I don’t think he’s going to recruit more poor rural voters to grow the party, I don’t think he’s going to hold Wall Street accountable (he’s already brought in many big bank vultures in his cabinet even) , I dont think he’ll have reservations about taking us into another Middle Eastern conflict. These are a few of the tenants that the Democrats should lean on to really position themselves as an alternative in the future.

And why should I think otherwise? If he’s positioning himself as Obama 2, and Obama didn’t do any of those things, why would I expect something different?

I’d love to be proven wrong though.

I think he won’t embarrass us in the eyes of our international peers. And I do think he’ll successfully navigate us out of this pandemic with way more focus and calm than his predecessor and right now that’s most important.

Of Trump's term and Trump handling in his typical fashion

If Trump had managed to handle it with some semblance of giving a damn he probably would have won

I HOPE Biden/Harris actually do some shit to make people want to vote for them again next election

if he'd have handled covid correctly

i think the only thing that may have helped him politically were all the protests. it gave him a narrative of saying they're destroying our cities, is this what you want? it scared enough white people to not completely dip, but still hardly enough to win.

Too bad

I could have baited a couple of others too, if y'all didn't cover for Tiger Woods (he don't have to continue to respond to "gibberish" I guess - but he was probably embarrassed by my first reply to him, anyway)

there's a ton of value in that alone. we'll just have to wait and see how biden's term plays out.

I'm sure some will have buyers remorse, but I think that's the case with every guy who has been voted in, to some degree.

as others have stated, I don't think he's running. he'll be 100 in president years by then. so folks will be watching Kamala more closely through 2024.

If you voted for Biden, and he hasn't even been inaugurated yet, why the backing off?

I'll post links of the backing off replies

Do you see the act of voting for him and thinking he was the best Democrat for this job as mutually exclusive?

The same ticket of Biden/Harris would’ve won in 2016.

Biden’s son dying made him not want to run forcing the Hillary ticket which was a terrible move and opened the door for Trump.

I guess he's content with having this discussion (?) in his head by himself. Maybe in there it is a mind blowing debate.

I honestly don't know which side/group he is trying to call out.

Which is great for him if/when he's proven to be right about, uh, whatever the fuck the actual point here was.

Once that happens, he can bask in the glow of all those imaginary GOTCHABITCH! points.

But for all those links, I'm still waiting to see if he has a link to a version of this post that doesn't read like it was written by a Russian spam bot.

Because the answers were already obvious

So....

Ask Tiger Woods to stop running and answer my questions if you want to see who I'm calling out

I'm calling out people like Tiger Woods who made the 1st reply

Into English

Nobody cares about your exchange with Tiger Woods, and nobody is impressed by your ebook of receipts for your purchase of this dumpster fire.

TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*
