"Happy Indigenous People Genocide Day!"

They're encouraging smaller gatherings because of #TheVID but you know people are still going to do what they do...

I know in some cultures its common to brag on how early or how long you were cooking...

Like most "holidays" most people have no clue about the true darker history of the day...

Even though I'm over the holiday and the culinary associations there's nothing wrong with being thankful if you believe in a higher power...

I'm mostly chilling, drinking wine and grilling seafood, watching this dumb parade and waiting to see what football games actually happen...

Immediate family in the area will probably drop off a couple plates of "thanksgiving food", we have a zoom call with the extended fam later...

What are you all doing today?

Just my family, my parents and brother, so only 5 adults and two kids.

Usually it is a lot bigger with aunts/uncles and cousins and their family but with Rona it is going to be small.

Luckily we live in San Diego and the weather is nice enough to eat outside. It’s sunny and 65.

We opted out of a slightly larger gathering at my MIL's house and did it here at our house. Just my mom (who's here pretty much every day helping with the kids) and my FIL. Didn't eat outside, but definitely spent a lot of the day outside because it was nice af here in Central VA today. Cajun fried a turkey breast and maple Bourbon glazed a small ham. The sides were standard with greens, sweet potatoes, Mac and cheese, cranberry sauce and homemade rolls. Good day.

Mom made a nice, small turkey and it tasted great. Smaller overall spread and just kept to the basics.
