7. "To Me A Big Gospel Hit Song Is "Optimistic" Or "Stomp"" In response to Reply # 0
Those two songs have been the biggest gospel songs that have that staying power of still getting spins on the radio or in a Dj mix, there is a ton of other songs that are popular within the gospel genre but as far as songs that people don't really think of as just a gospel song and more like that urban jam they love to hear regardless of it being a spiritual song; Optimistic" by Sounds Of Blackness and "Stomp" by God's Property featuring Kirk Franklin are those type of songs.
I've seen djs play "Stomp" and then play a ratchet rap song right after and people not turn and eye one bit; while "Optimistic" is dope song (I get emotional everytime I hear it) that gets play a lot on adult contemporary radio stations and djs will play it during maybe a 90's r&b aka new-jack-swing mix.
