but I think if Biden wins it will be minimal.

Now if Trump wins.. I wouldn’t be surprised if people go ham for a day/night.

The looters are probably already planning on what spots they are gonna hit.

Not so much increased violence like shootings (we already have many of those), but there will be property damage here. Residential blocks will probably be quiet, but commercial corridors might get hit hard.

The looters are indirect because they don't give a shit about the election results, they are just waiting for a distraction.

black mecca cities: Detroit, New Orleans, Atlanta, etc have rarely if not been targeted in intimidation by certain groups who know their audience.

but its nice to see certain small-medium black towns take up arms and wish a whore's unaborted bastard would.

Why is America in a position to bring about a bloodless revolution?

Because the Negro in this country holds the balance of power and if the Negro in this country were given what the Constitution says he is supposed to have, the added power of the Negro in this country would sweep all of the racists and the segregationists out of office. It would change the entire political structure of the country. It would wipe out the Southern segregationism that now controls America's foreign policy, as well as America's domestic policy.

And the only way without bloodshed that this can be brought about is that the black man has to be given full use of the ballot in every one of the 50 states. But if the black man doesn't get the ballot, then you are going to be faced with another man who forgets the ballot and starts using the bullet.

Revolutions are fought to get control of land, to remove the absentee landlord and gain control of the land and the institutions that flow from that land. The black man has been in a very low condition because he has had no control whatsoever over any land. He has been a beggar economically, a beggar politically, a beggar socially, a beggar even when it comes to trying to get some education. So that in the past the type of mentality that was developed in this colonial system among our people, today is being overcome. And as the young ones come up they know what they want. And as they listen to your beautiful preaching about democracy and all those other flowery words, they know what they're supposed to have.

So you have a people today who not only know what they want, but also know what they are supposed to have. And they themselves are clearing another generation that is coming up that not only will know what it wants and know what it should have, but also will be ready and willing to do whatever is necessary to see that what they should have materializes immediately.- Malcolm X

I live in a very liberal area; millennial hipsters, immigrants, heavy LBGTQ...etc. During the whole cycle, I have maybe seen only a handful of Trump signs, but a sea of Biden and BLM.

If Biden wins things will be very cool, but if Trump wins, I see a lot of grumbling, but no violence. I'm sure a Trump win will trigger protests in downtown Atlanta, but it will probably be confined to the same major areas that saw protests after George Floyd. Close, but not close enough to affect my day to day.

But you know metro Atlanta. You don't have to get that far outside of the perimeter for it to take a sharp ass right turn. So, I am concerned for a few of my friends that live ground zero in the basket of deplorables. I have a friend in Forsyth County (why his Black ass moved to Forsyth, I'll never know), that I imagine has to be on edge right now.

legit Trump shit.

They've already been taking to the streets due to their neighborhoods getting locked down over the last fee weeks.

I think they might explode if it looks tomorrow night like Trump is ahead, and then he winds up losing as the mail-in ballots get counted through the week. But if he appears to have lost by tomorrow night, I think they'll chill.

If that link works properly, go to NYC and look at how red central Brooklyn is.

If I'm not mistaken, those same red areas correlate to the areas in Brooklyn that have excessively high positive COVID-19 tests.

it's come to this.
This has to be the worst & most potentially dangerous election year in modern history.

I got contractors saying they're playing it by hear regarding whether they'll be on site working tomorrow and Wednesday. !! WTF!?!
When has a fcking ELECTION ever been the deciding factor on whether work is gonna happen?? And I'm not talking about traffic....they are legit on the fence because of the uncertainty surrounding safety of literally being out on the streets...

too many fucking points of uncertainty.

i havent been worried about things until now.

my fear is not with protests, or even what could happen if Biden wins. My fear is in the area of unexpected attacks/violence.

I'm thinking, with a lot of fear, uncertaintiy and doubt in the air, these sick accelerationists, no matter their political ideology will take advantage of things and make an attempt to make SOMETHING go down. These are the people who punch A when A is arguing with B and saying "B did it" and then handing B a gun and stepping back.

if you're not up on accelerationism look into it, it's some scary shit. These are the groups who set fire to police stations during BLM protests to get "it" started, these are the people who were planning on shooting/killing/attacking people at gun rights rallies to get "it" started. They don't care about who they kill, they want "it" to get started - that "it" i keep quoting is...a few things, rahowa, race war, collapse, the boogaloo, etc.

I prepared for a light bug in, i stocked up on shit if it came down to us having to get the fuck out of dodge. now, we wait.

by the way, to answer the question, I don't know whats going to happen in my city but I think I'm in an exposed position for a variety of reasons. I'm in NJ and Brooklyn. BK has black people, liberals, hella covid. NJ has Trump folks, covid lockdowns again and black folks. (I have a feeling black people run a risk of being random targets of retaliation whatever happens)

Its not one thing, its many things failing at once.

You also have Q anon police, if shit goes down are they going to be professional or take on some vigilante justice?

Eddentially, don't even be outside past 1pm tomorrow and don't leave the house until morning and then be sure to be inside before dark for the next few weeks.

My area leans heavily to the left. Blacks, LGBTQ & hipsters. Maybe there will be some little skirmishes or some windows broken in some other areas. But I don't think there's going to be any kind of big militia movement or rampaging riots by either side, whatever the outcome.

Work in Dupont Circle. The drive in has been noticing more and more plywood going up like back in June. Not a great feeling.

Decided I"m working from home tomorrow just to be sure

If a fat guy falls in the woods and there is no one around to see it, do the trees laugh?

We had a rough start to the summer - James Scurlock is dead and his murderer shot himself dead in another state - but mostly recovered from there. Local police incited riots here and there among protesters in the following month but then we were able to mostly peacefully protest under minimal surveillance through the rest of the summer and fall. Trump parades have been increasingly visible though - notably, in cars instead of on foot, and thus not arrested for blocking streets / "impeding traffic" even though that's exactly what they're doing - and at the end of the day, this is the Cornhusker state.

We'll see.

In response to Reply # 0

And I'd wish we'd stop calling broken windows, burning trash cans, and graffiti "violence"
Looting isn't violence either.
Disturbances sure, destruction fine. Violence though is aimed at the body. Calling protest and uprisings violent is an attempt to delegitimize them.
