"40 And Over Brethren: Weakness After Sex"

i dont know if its age or something hormonal or something...

but after 1 nut my energy be low af and muscles fatigued.

like not even roll over and go to sleep tired. but having to eat like a demon for 2 or 3 straight days before i feel right again.

it never fails.

anybody else experience this?

im thinking its some hormonal shit cuz you dont lose that many nutrients from a nut.

cuz post-covid most of us have lost our daily routines that used to keep us fit mentally and physically.... so we all have adjustments to make to find our proper balance...

i have a gym at home so i still been active during all this.

i really started paying attention to the stuff im experiencing some time last year.

the reason i suspect its some sort of hormonal shit is because it feels like it triggers some sort of addictive pathway or something.

i eat clean. but after sex...for a few days...my body doesnt feel fulfilled unless i binge on a bunch of high calorie delivery/takeout food. its a cycle at this point.

like whatever is depleted during sex is replenished or stimulated only after binge eating. i dont know if its a hormone sensitivity/tolerance issue or what.

kinda like the munchies but longer.

i know this shit sounds crazy but i dont know how else to describe it lol.

I had sex with a few men over 40 in the last 5 years. I can say diet, water and stress has a lot to do with stamina, erection quality, smell of sperm and ability to rebound.

Guy 1) Healthy 45 vegan guy had a ton of stamina, but not much muscle strength.

Guy 2) Mid healthy 47 year old desk worker had a great stamina but didn't have sex that often. When sex did happen, he was great but could only do one good session each day.

Guy 3) Healthy 45 year old, highly stressed divorcee- Had no stamina, lasted minutes and had sex once or twice/ year if at all. We only had sex once and I knew it wasn't going to be a fulfilling relationship.

40+ men, PLEASE make sure you talk to your lady about your sexual challenges, successes and changes.

17. "Read «The Tao of Sex, Health & Longevity» by Daniel Reid"
In response to Reply # 0

The Tao has always been a big advocate of balancing emission between sexes and provides many teachings on how men can (and should) avoid fatigue from sex with ejaculation. It states very clearly how often and when men should squirt to avoid loss of vitality. Obviously apply their techniques as you see fit, but it is very insightful and definitely way more practical than one’d suspect.

I think you might be able to find a free pdf of the book online, its really good and it cant hurt to find some motivation to combat and / or be smarter about loss of energy related to sex & ejaculation etc

Also has a bunch of stuff on nutrition, proper breathing exercises etc etc

When I was younger...didn't matter. Regardless of what my level of fitness was, I was still making a decent showing. Of course, when I was in peak physical condition I REALLY putting it down.

Nowadays, sexual performance, stamina and recovery is DIRECTLY related to fitness. If I feel shitty, my sex game is shitty.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I was very sedentary, stressed out, eating foul, couldn't go to the gym...etc. I am positive it showed in the bedroom. Now, I'm back in the gym, eating keto, long walks with the dog, and managing stress (a BIG factor).

I feel like I'm back on my game.

In response to Reply # 0

i made this post over a year ago.

i forgot to update it.

i started taking my health serious serious and got some bloodwork, cancer screenings, etc.

the bloodwork revealed several deficiencies like iron, d3, etc along with possible hypothyroidism (not conclusive but possible signs there).

also prediabetic.

so i started supplementation according to my doctors recs, cutting out high gi/sugar foods, etc. also drastically cut down processed and 'store bought' foods (even the supposedly healthy shit) and went to a completely whole food diet. you dont realize how much something relatively lowkey like pasta sauce could be doing damage (ton of sugar and sodium).

i feel like a whole new man. damn! its wild all this was going on and i had no idea. i thought i was just getting old lol.

I was just trying to get a better quote but the bloodwork showed I was prediabetic

I think it was too much wings and hanging at the brewery. I was throwing back IPA’s like crazy.

Now I chill.. mostly drink light beer.

Lost a good 10 to 15 pounds of beer gut too.

Congrats on getting it figured out

I normally get the bloodwork every year for my physical..

and for me (not sure about everyone else), my glucose levels are tied to my weight.. If I'm over 200 my A1C is higher..

since the pandemic, I've lost between 20-30 pounds total.. and it's been steady as of late.. maybe this is my normal weight? i don't know but for some reason going to work (physically using public transportation) everyday had a affect on my weight?!?!?!?

anyway, I do have a physical coming up so it will be interesting..

In response to Reply # 34

im relatively active by normal standards. lift regularly (home gym).

but i spend most of my day at a computer desk and then in front of a tv. along with my metabolism slowing with age.

so my weight is steady climbing and im seeing the consequences of that.

than what's normally done during annual physicals?

I get mine checked twice a year. Once for the physical. The other,6 months later to because my cholesterol is high.

Y'all buy those labels, I was born supreme

yeah, get that checked out with a doctor or urologist

Look into taking supplements:
1) a good quality wholefood multivitamin for men 40+
2) vitamin D (5,000-10,000iu)
3) kelp (for iodine for hormone regulation, this helped me immensely with energy)
4) zinc (for strong swimmers)
5) dim and calcium d-glucarate (these help lower estrogen which is more present in everyone because of soy, phthalates, and plastics)
