any excuse/idea to do something with the kids, even with it being just at home. We're keeping are bubble very strong, but having weekly movie nights, video game nights, playing basketball in the driveway, etc. is still getting boring for them. So anything to keep it fresh for something different is a win for us.
When the school year started, my first grader's teacher had them all come off mute to talk about what they did over their summer vacation. We usually do a LOT during the summer - Disney, camping trips, Cedar Point, swimming, etc.
All the other kids were still talking about all that regular stuff - they been living their best lives during the pandemic like it's all good. My 6 year old just looked at me when it was his turn and shrugged - I felt that in my soul.

that I probably would steer my kids away from anyway.
As an adult I like going to parties and seeing chicks in slutty costumes but that’s about it. I’ve never really been into “dressing up” I’ve got the same 2 or 3 basic costumes that I rotate if I do go to something.

I still scratch my head when people say they need to take a flight or vacation right now.
But at the same time I get wanting a bit of normalcy.
We still hit up the beach twice and we finally had a date night and ate out at a restaurant for the first time since this started.
My kids begging me to go back to school. My 5 year old “Daddy, I have an idea... what if we wear our mask while at school?”
Broke my heart.

Literally once a month I was on a flight. Maximized the hell outta my vacay time and work trips. But all that shit is out the window. And I'm struggling mightily. But I'm staying home. It's hard but not impossible.

Trust me, they will probably look back fondly on this weird ass Halloween.
I carved 2 pumpkins on Oct 4th. Kids were hype as fuck. Went away for the weekend, came back and those things were rotten as fuck because it was so humid. But my kids loved them shits for the 2 days they got to see them. It’s the little things.
