those are the ones I'd been looking forward to.

Giveon's first ep, is one of my favorite releases of the year. I listened to this new one last night as I was going to bed and was a little disappointed. I'll give it some more spins and see if it sticks.

Was listening to GGM on my way to work. Made it through Someone, which is my favorite track thus far. Not quite sure what to make of the project yet... The hook on Mira My Look is terrible. Everything else sounded good enough.

Haven't gotten to the other two yet.

Never listened to this dude before, I recognize the name from some mixtapes or features like a decade ago, but he was never really on my radar.

The beats are fantastic. Some of my favorite production on a project all year.

His third album of 2020. Crazy. Slick Rick on two songs has me intrigued. Plus a Just Blaze beat.

not very long and didnt sound quite right. album overall was good.

It’s not bad, but he put out two albums already this year that were better so why would I play this one?

not an album but a dope sing...

21 is still somehow worse at rapping when he tries to rap. same problem on as on /i am > i was./ he's edging closer to sounding like drake with each album, which i think is a bad direction for him to move in because there is outwardly very little about him that is vulnerable or sensitive. he's a little tough to relate to because his cold delivery actively puts up walls

i like the idea of sample heavy metro production but he's covering the same ground he covered when he withdrew from the spotlight a few years ago. and it's not even a triumphant return to his sound because hip hop has largely moved on from biting metro. less "let me show you youngins how it's done" and more "remember this style of beats?" i do really like "rip luv" for the use of the old nas sample even though there are a few senseless beat switches and some zaytoven piano noodling. the young thug feature is great, the "everlasting bass" sample is novel, and the final track eventually won me over. most of the rest of the album is executed well but not particularly memorable. the morgan freeman narration is a little cringey

Black Thought himself has said album is coming next week. Not really excited for anything this week. I will be checking out the Papoose and Reason, not sure if anything else.

the industry has been whispering about Benny's project w/ Hit Boy and how it's gonna make him the star of Griselda and a low-key star in the rap world, and if this is any indication, they were right as fuck.

Black Thought was great - Definitely AOTY contender for me. I feel it will be up for consideration for the decade as well.

Benny was really good - I think the production was great. Rhyming was okay but still boring in some parts. Overall one of the better releases of the year but not quite AOTY consideration.

T.I. is too long. Whats wrong with you Tip?

insanely good.

did NOT see the switch up coming...and the artwork.

i was ready to be disappointed but i think overall its great. theres a few songs i dont love but the middle and some of the last tracks are great.

ty was mostly miss for me. i can only handle so much auto-tune. at least the songs werent one dimensional. he kept the music interesting. a few tracks that are worth keeping in rotation.

now i know i dont need to check out any other dej albums. not for me.

His "Cake" EP is really straight.

King Crooked's single "You Were Supposed To" is real heavy.

"The Golden Rule" by Yakgod Drizz was on my Release Radar on Spotify. I've never heard of this cat before and I don't know anything about him. But this song was cool.

I gotta find some time to listen to the new Common album.

The Goodie Mob track "Frontline" was better than I expected. I'm looking forward to the reunion with Organized Noize & the new album.
