"Post music you think ONLY YOU know about." Tue Aug-25-20 04:25 PM by PROMO
With streaming, and the algorithms and whatnot, I know we all have some really great music we've run across via the discover pages, our catered playlists, etc, that we think ONLY we've heard of because it's some "random" artist with very little following, etc.
Post up your finds so we can all enjoy the heat and treat our ears a little better than before.
Plus, you'll be giving these artists shine and I'm sure they'll all appreciate a few new listeners/fans.
edit: this ain't about being right or wrong either. don't come in here like "you're not the only one who knows about so and so!" just appreciate.

Always loved that cover.
Think "Whiplash!" was my track now that I'm looking @ the playlist but I'd have to go back and listen. Which I may just do this week for a quick dose of nostalgia.
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*
This won't be for everyone, but it fucking should be, lmao
It's a pretty upbeat pop sound, but may be too 'bright and shiny' for most, but that's honestly the appeal for me. It's some go-to shit when I'm trying to brighten my mood. I'd start with Sleepless Streets or Blackbeak, though We Come Running is their catchiest tune. Dreams is legit my daughter's favorite song in life, and has been since she was like 3.
I wouldn't say these are super obscure groups, but I've never come across anyone else who's ever heard of them.
I listen to lots of stuff that I'm sure very few people know about. But I stumbled on this album on bandcamp, and even though it's very well done lo-fi synth pop that sounds like Boards of Canada mixed with Survivor, it doesn't seem to have any fans even on bandcamp, where almost everything that's quality has some following.
No links to social, doesn't rank in most popular, no recommendations, even though this is the sort of release that thrives on bandcamp. And unlike a lot of kitschy lofi synth pop (this is definitely kitschy), these are fully formed pop songs with rock-star style vocals. It almost feels like they're going out of their way to be inscrutable, like this is a secret project from someone well known. Or, maybe more likely, it's just way too easy for quality music to fall through the cracks these days.
---- I check for: Serengeti, Zeroh, Open Mike Eagle, Jeremiah Jae, Moka Only.
