... Under the Cherry Moon and I was the only one in the group who had seen it. Which was weird and embarrassing because I'm not, like, a Prince superfan and truthfully expected that a roomful of people who drove all the way out to Chanhassen to see Prince's house two years would also be a room full of people who'd seen Under the Cherry Moon.
But apparently not.
Anyhow, hard agree on the movie. It's... real bad but still incredibly watchable for the music, for the giant swing and miss, and for Kristin Scott Thomas, who I also usually like.
Relatedly, that's an incredibly weird tour. I would highly recommend it to anybody. Exactly the right blend of mindblowing cool and mindblowing strange. When it was over, they led us into a room where Prince's performance from the Superbowl was playing on a TV. The guide introduced the clip to us, and mentioned that she regards it as one of the finest live music performances of all time, and then looked *me* dead in the eye and said, "Which makes sense, because after all, he was The One." ______________________________
