re: overworked - I decided I had too much time on my hands so im taking this class that my job is offering for free (if you have been with the company as long as I have, its free at least). so I should be nice and overwhelmed come October.
Newport News is different from the little bit of time I've been through there recently, but the vibe seemed pretty the same. Haven't spent much time down there other than a quick visit or two to see my brother in Hampton.

We just experienced a minor one but it did a bit of damage (Hurricane Isaias).
Hurricane Isabel did a huge number on us (not on Katrina levels).
This area is low lying so it floods a lot, there are parts that aren't low lying - like my house isn't. But I live by the woods so I have lots of trees. Isais took out a tree in my backyard, luckily missing my house.
I don't get bent out of shape about them - most thing I will do is make sure we have food we can eat that doesn't need to be cooked and will sleep downstairs. Don't take your hurricane preparedness tips from me.
Love working from home. Job's good. Actually got a new gig last September. Now I'm in the Big Chair. Now just gotta shape things the way they should be.
Otherwise, just gaming, little dating and trying to get outside more.

People didn't know about Black Wall Street or Juneteenth? There's a severe lack of education of the atrocities perpetrated by white nationalists since they got to America, so since that list is long af, there's no shortage of topics. Only problem is, I don't know the details of all of these atrocities myself, so I signed myself up to essentially do a tremendous amount of research. So far there's only one real episode about the Trail of Tears, but there's also an intro episode and an episode talking about my experiences with Judaism. The show's in my sig, but I've decided to record a bunch before I blast off with real promotion.
