"TV ads with electronica/lo-fi hip hop/lounge music *links*" Tue Aug-11-20 10:44 AM by Airbreed
Covid has me working from home and watching more TV. Can't help but notice some of the chill music being used in some of these ads lately. Posting to see if anyone can ID because Shazam is like, nah.

playing... it was a female singing... dang... I wish I could remember because I THOUGHT she caught some fame from it was going to be following up with a real release.

because it's not really meant to be a "song" it's just sort of non-descript music that producers make specifically to be licensed as background noise for commercials.
and that's not a knock on any talent or anything, but i'm 99.99999 percent sure those aren't SONGS songs if you get what i'm saying.

I remember reading some article a while back about how those 'producers' exist just to make music that steals from a popular song without having to pay any artist or label, and it's not always because it's obviously popular/expensive.
4. "for sure. but tbh, think about any legitimate industry." In response to Reply # 3
there's almost always a whole other industry built off "faking" the legitimate thing.
right or wrong.
i mean, i found out last year (and was blown away) that there was a whole "industry" of gospel groups copying soul/r&b hits from the 70's and 80's and making religious versions of those song.
you know how i found out? when 2 Chainz "Threat 2 Society" came out and i heard that Truthettes "So Good To Be Alive" sample and realized it's a jesus-based rip off of Teddy P's "Love TKO."
