I know Guitar Center probably loss a lot of money on those by having a ton of them sitting in the warehouse just collecting dust thinking RZA was going to have tons of wanna-be producers ready to buy a BeatThing...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!
The funny thing about this beat is that after hearing that joint he made, I can hear a similar process of beats in a few joints RZA made back when he first switched over from MPC & ASR to other newer equipment, it's just what we hear in that video is raw, and the beats we hear on albums are probably worked on further, mixed down with effects and compression, and not so thin sounding.
