Twitter Ipo'd at 26.00 a share. It is now trading at 38.00 a share, with an ATH of 69.00. So it's not sitting on the moon in price, even though they have a huge user base.
So even if there is this huge user migration to BP, that wouldn't necessarily mean the price would go straight to the moon. It's a good idea in theory, and there would be price movement, but the earnings would need to show tremendous net revenue gross on top of the user growth. That would take some time, and would not be instantaneous out the gate.
Also, you would have to worry about short sellers, and the intentional action to keep the stock from growing due to it being a black social network. So I could imagine a group of whales shorting the stock to make money off it, while keeping it suppressed at the same time.
I would rather have a token or crypto coin created, and that could be used to make purchases with black owned stores and online services, while at the same time being able to invest with it. The token would be used for purchases, and the coin would be used for investments and monthly air drops for each user to generate profits or revenue. You can't short sell crypto like you can a stock. You can short options and futures on bitcoin, but that's something that is entirely different.

I think that makes up a huge portion of FB’s revenue.

And that's REVENUE GROSSING on top of bringing in users. ...
That is not easy or a walk in the park. White Advertising pays the most money because the white companies have all the money, so you would have to get those white companies to sponsor or invest in the platform, which would go against the platform being a true black platform.
Again, stock is not easy, which most people don't realize that because they have never traded or taken a course in trading and how the market really moves. There are no black companies on the stock market with a market cap on the level of apple, tesla, or amazon, etc. Stock market is a market created by white people and will always be owned by white people.
"Only about 2.4% of the country’s equity market wealth is held in the portfolios of black and Hispanic degree-holding households, according to the St. Louis Fed."...and that's just people with degrees.
The better move would be crypto because of the ability to generate a currency system that would reward users and black companies on the platform, as well as being able to have more control over the movement of the price and not having to worry about short sellers.
If it is about really creating our own and owning our own, the stock market wouldn't be the way to go ...and I'm a swing trader.

I don't much care for the stock aspect - but I would definitely buy - but, shit, thinking about the potential to have a black powered social media channel is kinda dope
but additional steps will need to be taken. social media of yesterday is not the social media of today. while ad spend was a part of the business model then its the biggest part of how social media companies make coin.
So, on one side it would be dope to have a channel that targets Black people directly (i mean, you can do the same in FB, Google, etc) and it also can lead to black entrepreneurship activity
I might also consider a rebrand to give it wider appeal. "BP" instead of "black planet" which in itself is too divisive (uh uh, well uh, why cant WE have a white planet?!) yanno? Bury the name, in BP but make no mistake that its a black platform that is inclusive.
