My wife’s granny is in hospice.. prolly another week or 2
My wife’s aunt is also in hospice... same deal.

My sisters father just passed yesterday. Going to try to make it to the funeral on Tuesday in Pittsburgh. My sister said she understands if I don’t go due to covid but I know she would be there for me. She’s always been there for me.

We are getting a headstone for my dad on his birthday the following Sunday in Pittsburgh. I want to go but then again.. not sure I can make 2 trips that fast. Might pay my respects this weekend. I have a voucher for $400 with Delta so maybe I can get in and get out quickly.

Frustrating thing is this covid ain’t going away but my dads side of the fam wants us to kick it and celebrate his bday. I’m not trying to be that guy but at their age I don’t think it’s a wise idea to get together like this.

a couple of weeks ago made 8 years in LA, the longest I've lived anywhere aside from NY

happiness aside, the internet makes me really dislike people because most cant think for themselves

I got 5 figures of money last year from my grandfather's estate and blew it all, because my life was in a strange place. thankfully this COVID unemployment money has been good and Im a bit more disciplined now

the gym is back open, if I stay in there and sleep enough at night, those will be essential to my well being

3. "I feel hate."
In response to Reply # 0

For the better part of my life, I scolded myself for even using the word hate.
Right wing whites are oppression fetishists and a misery delivery system.
As a result of years of observing this shit, I fucking hate them.
In my life, in my soul - which is exactly what they want. The suggestion of meeting their hatred with love physically repulses me.
I've seen marches before me, I've been in them and they'll continue after me, but these mentally diseased cave people are whooping our collective asses.
How does every demographic in America's story have the right wing ideology as their shared antagonist?

I need to see them experience pain.

I have a 400 year old chip on my shoulder.

supposed to be working from home this week. we had a customer scheduled to visit for an onsite approval today so the boss said he wanted me to come in for that. it would look good. then go home. okay sure.

he calls me after 5 yesterday and tells me the customer had issues with their flight and wont be coming in. i guess no need to come in ri....nope now i have to come in the whole day and work from the office. i need to send pictures so the customer can approve remotely. um ok.

i come in and my office mate is here too. she had no clue i was coming in. we have been alternating so there is only one of us in the office at a time. now im sitting here with a mask on wondering how im gonna drink this coffee lol i dont know if the boss did this on purpose and did want us both here today or he forgot to tell her to work from home.

so scary. worst time to get sick. we could not visit him in the hospital. we could only call for updates. he went to the er. got admitted and then stopped answering his cell phone. we call the hospital and they are like, yeah he stopped breathing so we had to put him on a respirator. WTF, and you don't call and tell the family!!?!?

he's fine now and coming home soon. Thank God!

I was in the middle of a reply to another poster when it vanished.

Unless someone turned it all the way up within a few minutes, my guess is a mod deleted it due to the topic itself.

It was no more argumentative/nasty than any other OKP thread, no racial epithets were uttered by anybody openly white...or anybody else for that matter.

The offense was obviously political.

Basically been a single parent for the past two months. "She" has been in Charlotte with her mother (not doing too good) and it's just been me, the kid and the dog since the end of April.

Confession-

I don't know how single parents do it. Jesus Christ. Even with a low maintenance 16 year old this is alot. When "She" comes back end of July (and thats another story) the parenting dynamic will have changed so much I don't know if she'll be able to handle it.

Kinda sick of working from home, but I'm sure if I was going into an office right now I'd be pissed, lol.

I tried to get into the show Snowpiercer..I dont think it's gonna stick.

pretty much. i dont enjoy working from home but i sure dont like coming into the office lol. lucky me i have to do both depending on my bosses mood it seems. my coworker was telling me that he told her he might have us both coming in starting next week. he hasnt told me that. i really hope not, i think im going to have to just accept her as part of my daily circle and keep the mask off in the office if thats the case.

good luck on the parenting, dont have any words of wisdom for ya on that lol

Im close with two people who dont post
cool and friendly with a select list of others who used to post (maybe I should follow their lead if no one I like very much is still here)
when I was on Facebook I saw exactly how much this isnt what I consider family, people are petty and childish and most of us are 40 at this point
once I draw the line on people, I dont carry fake love or fake sympathy like I see a lot around here

Shit.
If you have a call of ten people you can’t bring up a new subject as the meeting time expires and then expect people to just adjust their schedules on the fly.
But
“Some” people do.

for that very reason. i can see when one of these white women just has a bug up their ass and wants to argue about something, or talk about some other shit just because everyone is altogether.

thats when i hop up, "go to the bathroom" and really just go back to my desk and start working or get on a call.

they are saying she was a BLM activist, and true she did attend a rally, but she had a lot going on in her life. homelessness, drugs, prostitution. she was someone who could come up missing and be used as some prop for this whole "movement".

The mother of a Florida man accused of strangling a teenage Black Lives Matter protester and killing an elderly woman said her son called her from jail and confessed to the slayings, according to a new report.

Aaron Glee Jr., 49, who was arrested Sunday in the deaths of 19-year-old activist Oluwatoyin Salau and Victoria Sims, 75, called his mother, Sandra Cutliff, later that night and confessed to the killings, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

Cutliff, 67, told the outlet that her son said he met Salau on a bus and invited her to his house so she could shower. He told her the teenager asked him for the drug ecstasy and when he refused she bit him and called him a “n—-r” — sending him into a rage.

“He told me that after she got out of the shower she wanted ‘molly,'” Cutliff said. “He told her he wasn’t going to buy it. He said she called him a f—ass n—-r and bit him. That’s what triggered him off.”

Glee was arrested in Orlando after police found the two women’s bodies in a home he rented in Tallahassee, police said in a press release.

Cutliff said Sims, who knew Glee so well that he called the elderly woman his “white grandmother,” angered him when she visited and called him a “slob,” so he killed her.

Salau, whose body was found Saturday, recently spoke at a George Floyd rally in Tallahassee, where she met Simms, a well-known local campaigner for Democratic politics.

Sims was last seen June 11, and Salau on June 6.

Cutliff said she did not know why her son allegedly committed the two murders, but said he suffered from mental health problems — and had been in a psychotic downward spiral in recent weeks, the Mail said.
