"Blackout Tuesday..." Tue Jun-02-20 10:16 AM by BrooklynWHAT
anybody else side-eyeing this mess?
i thought it was supposed to be for corporations to not post/promote anything today.
so how the hell did my whole timeline that was full of useful info about the protests, bailout funds, blm stuff all weekend, just get drowned out by useless black boxes. especially from folks who aint made a peep on black issues ever
apex slacktivism. pat yourselves on the back i guess...

Seems like a terrible idea on the surface.
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

One said it’s for white people who stand in solidarity to basically stfu for a day and let Black people push the narrative.
The other answer said it was the music industry having a day of silence. No branding or listening parties..
So I think it wasn’t actually thought all the way thru before it was announced.

I’ve seen close to 1000 employees at my company from all over the world contribute ideas, money, articles not only for today but for going forward. Our internal discussion was a bit disorganized as well but I never expected this type of response and even if it’s a gradual change in the industry and the company, I’m on board

it implies it, but it's not explicit, plus, the people behind it have no visibility on instagram or twitter so there wasn't even anyone to ask what it meant.

Maybe b/c all it took was a little research and digging to get the answers, but people want everything to handed to them.
There was just SO much shade to the idea and 'who are these women? who knows them? what backing do they have? well at least one works for a label so she's part of the problem.' like HUH

me.... Especially if your gram consists of more than just a singular genre.... It DEF allowed me to see whether or not some of the folks I follow were at least tuned in to what was going on... I'm now suspect of a few accounts I followed simply because they failed to participate....
A lot of my follows are Architecture, Design & Construction type stuff....some of them participated but the ones that didn't were kinda blatant about it...like....I KNOW you see all these black squares...and you up in here posting about taking a day off to go fishing with your crew??? WTF??
"Get ready....for your blessing....." "Bury me by my Grand-Grand and when you can come follow me"
