"They aren’t resetting the clock back to zero in DC. :-("
Makes no damn sense.
We were on day 11 of declining cases in DC, you need 14 to reopen, this weekend we had a spike and rather than reset the clock to zero, which makes the most sense to me, they just set it back a few fucking days.
I’m so angry because the few times I’ve gone out recently ain’t no one wearing a mask and it’s just so infuriating because it’s like it got hot outside and everyone decided to give up trying to save each other from this virus.

fuck saving lives.
**************** TBH the fact that you're even a mod here fits squarely within Jag's narrative of OK-sanctioned aggression, bullying, and toxicity. *shrug*

Noticed a 24 hour uptick in ambulance sirens a few days ago, then everything quieted down again. Had to ask some folk to quiet down a street party at midnight not so long ago. They were polite about it but no one had on a mask and they were all huddled together. I dig that outdoor transmission is less likely but 20 people bunched together still seems nuts.
The neighborhood has been quiet since though because apparently other neighbors called the cops and the response was military level.
Some hotspots for loitering have been broken up in terms of the larger gatherings but dope boys are still out all day like nothing is happening. Mask free. There were a few weeks where everyone was rocking them.

LOL,
I find it comical that corona has not impacted certain segments of the black population. While I do know and believe that black people are dying, I do not see the virus impacting everyday hood, street dudes and chicks.
Maybe their grandmas? uncles? But in reading the DC stats, mostly men over the age of 40 are dying. There are very few stats on those who have been sick and recovered.
