As both are right now, I think it would be interesting, though possibly uneventful.

I 100% believe is Floyd took a hit, he'd be out. Tyson could probably take a few hits, but getting hit by Tyson. fuck that

If a fat guy falls in the woods and there is no one around to see it, do the trees laugh?

Lets start off with weight classes.

Floyd is a natural lightweight. That is his true weightclass, same thing with Pac. Most of their fights took place at that level, maybe even lower for Pac. They both moved up from featherweight to WW, and floyd even fought at jr Mw. That's a five weightclass jump.

Do to their ability and mastery as boxers, they are able to fight at higher weight classes, and dominate their opponent.

Floyd walks around at 147! That is walk around weight for a lightweight, because they get into training and drop weight. So when floyd fought at Jr. MW, he had to to gain weight!

Now in order for a Tyson fight to take place, Tyson would have to drop to MW, because it would be impossible for floyd to go up any further from his original start as a boxer. Example: Roy Jones and Sugar Ray Leonard, both started around WW And Jr Middleweight, and then made the five class jump to light heavy weight/heavyweight.

If floyd were to move up past middleweight, it would affect his boxing tremendously, because his ability is highly predicated on speed and agility, and lots of it. He has never been a big power puncher, which is needed once you get past Jr middleweight. Leonard and Roy always had extreme knockout power, so it went with them when they moved up in weight, and both became champions on that higher level. But you saw Roy's speed take a hit at that higher weight...he wasn't as fast

Tyson has never fought as a MW, so draining his body would affect his power. Also, tyson has always lacked boxing endurance, and faded as the rounds went on. So he would be even weaker at a lower weight.

In a situation of Tyson fighting Floyd at MW, would be an easy victory for Floyd due to his familiarity and comfort of fighting at that weight. And since Floyd gets better as the fight goes on, his speed, defense, and intelligence would be too much for tyson.

Floyd fighting Tyson at anything higher than MW, and Floyd would probably lose due to his lack of power, and the weight would slow him down...However, I'm willing to say that Floyd would have a better shot at beating Tyson at heavyweight, if he were to gain the weight to move up, than Tyson having a chance of beating Floyd at MW....Tyson fought a lot of dumb fighters, but when he got in the ring with smart fighters like Evander and Lewis, he couldn't hang.......Intelligence is superior to muscle.

Floyd is the superior pugilist, and it isn't even close.

However, this is all fantasy talk, because in real life it would never happen.

Pacquiao is an 8-division champ who moved up from Light Flyweight (he fought in 9 weight classes). He only had one fight at Lightweight. Most of his fights actually took place below Lightweight (58 out of 71 fights were below 135. The last 12 were above.)
Floyd's pro career began at Super Featherweight. He only had 5 fights at Lightweight. You could argue that Floyd is a natural Lightweight, since those fights took place around the midpoint of his 50 fights.
But nah, neither of them had most of their fights at Lightweight.

>Floyd walks around at 147! That is walk around weight for a

>So when floyd fought at Jr. MW, he had to to gain weight!

I'll add here that neither Floyd nor Pacquiao ever actually came into the ring all the way up to the Middleweight limit. Which means Floyd can't even make it to 154 lbs when he's trying. The highest he's ever weighed in a fight is 151.

As for everything else about Tyson dropping 60+ lbs for the fight, I'm gonna skip straight to the "it ain't happening" part. Mike is a big guy whose bone structure would cause him to have to be dying to get low enough in weight to fight Mayweather. They might both fight in charity matches, but it won't be against each other.

Correction to your correction.

I clearly said even lower for Pac as far as his weight start, but I guess you skipped over that.

Your correction on Floyd coming in underweight of 154 makes no sense, and coming in at 151. He still gained weight from his natural walk around weight, which was highlighting the fact that he is a little guy. Gaining weight is gaining weight

I hear you. You said "*maybe* even lower." It wasn't just that tho... you also said they both moved up from Feather, which is unfair to Pac, b/c he moved up from Light Fly. But still, neither Pac nor Floyd had most of their fights at Lightweight. That's just a fact.

That wasn't a correction. I was adding to your point, hence "I'll add here." I was on your side there.

If Floyd survives the first round, it will become a chess match with Floyd tiring out Mike and making him look bad.

That first round would be fun, though.

*Figured the weight difference and those issues have been addressed*

I feel like I'm in bizarro world seeing how serious he is and how some people are actually giving serious answers... and some even picking Floyd because of his defense as if any boxer his size can take punches from Mike Tyson for 12 rds. Why do these people think Floyd never went for a title above the 154 weight division? As much as that man loves glory and attention, he would've if he could've.

Quick story:
There's a not-so-undercover racist dude at work. Huge McGregor fan. He once said if Floyd was so good, he should've gained weight and went all the way to Heavyweight. Mind you, he doesn't apply this line of thinking to McGregor.
I say that to say... before this topic, the only other time I've heard someone suggest Floyd should be fighting Heavyweights, it was a racist who just wanted to see him lose. I'm not gonna be like Reeq and dismiss this as a "racist talking point" just because I heard something halfway similar from a racist. I'm not dense enough to think lightworks shares racist guy's intent or wants to say what he was trying to say. But I will reiterate that taking this seriously just shows very little understanding of the significance of weight in boxing... especially that much weight. Throw in their styles and this is a non-starter that I, as a boxing head, would personally feel like a disgrace to myself even analyzing lol.
